After Burner ✈️ The 32X was built for experiences like this. Did After Burner prove the hardware had something to offer?

As an arcade this one of the best games of all time

Its a great port and makes me wish the system lasted a little more to see others like Power Drift and such. Yeah, I know the Saturn have better ports and love them but seeing those running on the 32X would have added a layer of "tech achievement appreciation" to my enjoyment lol

After Burner was an arcade banger. I remember in the early 90’s our local arcade was full of SNK games, classic Atari, and a few of these cabinets. You couldn’t beat those days.

How to forget this beast?

Used to have the arcade version in my house, the one you sit inside with the dark perspex windows.... mind you back then my hole house was a massive fruit machine games & lan room lol....those were the fuckin days

Man, when I see the 32X version, my jaw drops. Dislocated Why, if I compare it to MD's After Burner The difference is enormous. 32X and its super scaler sprites power

The speed of this game always impressed me. I'd say hardware plays a huge role in games, but it's not the end all. It needs to enable devs to fulfill their vision as easily and closely as possible.

Alas the 32X was a total waste of Sega's time and investment.

The 32X came at an awful time due to their actual next-gen console months away
