Anyone with a functioning brain understands that assets that fall under a CGT will be expanded over time. You allow new taxes in at your peril.

You are just making shit up . I spent 7 yrs working as a 2ic and I was provided accommodation so was the heard manager we had relief milkers on rostered days to cover time off . They wernt given accommodation theyd drove in and out . We also had a guy who worked mon to fri he had set hours and wasnt provided accommodation. Just go to a farming jobs available site and you'll see not all farm jobs require accommodation. Why are Christians so dishonest. There is no hate like Christian love Simeon you absolutely prove this point. Ive also worked as a relief milker no accommodation provided

Ffs , farm workers who are drive in drive out are not provided a rental at all . They are employed for set hours and drive to and from the property each day. Ive never met a farmer who owns a rental in a local town to rent to the workers . Firstly it would be a stupid idea because hed get less rent as it would be part of the employment package. The farmers i know who do have rentals are in cities that are an hour away from the farm and rented out through an agency . Secondly most farms in Aotearoa are family owned • The Dominance of Family Farms: The vast majority of New Zealand farms are owned and operated by families, often structured as private family companies or trusts for tax and succession planning. • True Corporate Farming: Purely commercial "corporate" entities (large-scale equity partnerships, institutional investors, or large syndicates) are less common. True corporate operations are estimated to represent a small percentage of total farm ownership.

No problem, if they don't sell the farm and get profits from it, they won't face a capital gains tax. Easy as.

Washington state has one of the most vibrant tech communities in the world, but it's under threat from the new anti-tech, anti-innovation, capital gains tax, passed in 2021. I was curious how tech workers felt about this tax so I visited Microsoft and Amazon (see video below). What I learned shocked me. Many employees of these companies (who receive a large portion of them compensation in the form of stock) were not even aware that Washington's legislature had passed a capital gains tax that would affect them. This was not by accident. Politicians in Olympia designed the tax to initially apply to a fairly small set of people (the threshold at which it applies is $250,000). For years they had attempted to create a widespread income tax in WA by initiative, but they were repeatedly voted down by Washingtonians. But once they found a way to open the door to this new capital gains tax (by absurdly claiming it's not an income tax, but an excise tax), they immediately set to work on making it more widespread. Bill 5335 has been introduced to modify the capital gains tax so that the threshold at which applies will drop to $15,000 (a 94% drop, massively expanding the net of people it applies to), while increasing the rate from 7% to 8.5%. The increase in rate would mean that Washingtonians would see a greater than 50% increase in their tax burden on capital gains (sale of stocks, bonds, cryptocurrencies and other assets such as small businesses). When I explained these facts to the tech employees I met at Microsoft and Amazon most of them supported a repeal of the capital gains tax. We have one chance to get Washington back to its long tradition of not punishing success and welcoming the world's best and brightest to our state. This election, please vote Yes on initiative I-2109. Vote yes, Pay less.

This labour government has decided taxing imaginary things is a good idea. But, if they get away with it and pass this law, they won't stop at taxing unrealised capital gains in superfunds over $3 million. Their insane tax programme will be expanded. This new cook-up is just a Trojan horse. It just attacks a very small and obscure area of the financial world. They expect very little resistance form the public, and very little opposition from the people paid to provide opposition. Similar things have been done in the UK, and it has caused chaos. Millionaires, business people, entrepreneurs and productive people are leaving the country in droves. They’re running to places where they feel more welcome. They take opportunity with them. There are many areas where this dangerous new tax on a concept rather than actual money will have deep impact. It hits the stock market, as well as property market which will in fact impact everyone’s super not just the wealthy. Most importantly this will impact food production. Big chunks of land tend to appreciate in value. The value increase has been accelerating as the value of the dollar declines. This means family farms, held in super accounts, will be taxed heavily. Because value is relative and imaginary, there is no clear formula or predictability to the scale and timing of capital gains. Somebody will have to pay the cash tax, on an asset not sold. The imagined gain. Ludicrous. There are two ways this can be achieved, through using profits from operating the farm, or selling the farm. So many family farms invest everything they have into fences, feed, seed, fuel and equipment. When conditions are good, there is some money to be made, when the two major supermarkets are not busy pummelling them. There is even the odd export dollar. But it is not as if it isn’t already hard enough for family farmers here in Australia. Between the droughts and flooding rain, they fight to keep their farm lands free of power lines and electricity windmills. Fighting pests and regulations. Fighting to pay the energy bills. Fighting for access to water. Now they will be fighting to pay for imagined gains with real cash. This means an increase in the cost of food for the rest of us. That, and more corporatism in the farming sector, as more family farms are gobbled up by foreign corporations and big capital. Bad leaders can cause shortages where there was once effortless abundance. Albanese, Chalmers and friends are bad leaders. Short sighted and greedy. Playing divisive politics, as they seemingly tax the rich to give to the poor. The reality is they will just destroy more decent Aussie family farms, and everything that goes with it. The rest of us will pay more for our food. Australia can’t afford three years of this nonsense. No farmers, no food. I just want Australia back.

Why is Mr. Lakshmi Mittal and thousands of other millionaires leaving UK this year? Last year over 250k British nationals left the UK... and in the current year, almost 16k millionaires are expected the have left the UK... It's because of a major law that is proposed to be passed in the UK Parliament that none of the wealthy people like... To understand this, let's first understand why the Global Wealthy were in the UK to begin with... The Global Wealthy would go to the UK because the country had a Non-Dom Regime... which basically meant that all the incomes earned by UK residents in other parts of the world and all such capital gains would not be taxed... For example, in India, your global incomes are taxed if you are an Indian tax resident... Now there are three major changes that have happened that made millionaires pulled the trigger... 1/ In Oct 2024, the capital gains tax was increased from 20% to 24% 2/ In April 2025, UK abolished the Non Dom regime by which global incomes become taxable in the UK... and more importantly 40% inheritance tax becomes payable even on assets outside of the UK. 3/ And now the third issue... where the Govt is now proposing to levy a 20% exit tax on unrealised gains on these assets, which are not even sold, but only appreciated in value Now where are all these people going? Most of these people are now going to Dubai... No personal income tax, no wealth tax, no inheritance tax, no capital gains tax, no dividend tax... Absolute safety - no crime... and corporate tax is just 9% while you get all the first world facilities while being close to Asia as well as Europe. If you have to move somewhere globally, the best bet right now is the UAE.
