Kaveri is not Karnataka's sole property. In fact more people live on the banks of Cauvery in Tamil Nadu than in Karnataka.

Good point. When Tibetians can learn Kannada, why can't the people of India living in Karnataka? It's all about respect to the land which gives them food, water and shelter. By speaking the native tongue, you just show your respect.

My building's Nepali watchman speaks fluent Kannada, even better than me(I am a Tamilian). Most Nepalis in Bangalore speak Kannada because their jobs depend on knowing Kannada. It's a shame if we do not try to learn the local language
