one of the things I suggested to meta was a section for developers to define launch options, like steam does, so you can play a game as flat or immersive. this is a cool version of what that could be.

Added an AR Display to my phone joystick. It smoothly follows your hand's position. You can also switch to a big screen view. It will move along your sight direction and stay static. In future iterations, I will add a dedicated section in the phone app to control it (distance, size, surface snapping, anchoring, etc.). Another thing to try is to replace a video stream with a portal of the game itself. Originally, I started developing this prototype for the Quest platform, but now I realize that it makes more sense in Apple's ecosystem since they already have cross-device mirroring functionality, and what I showed would be a logical extension of their approach. I probably need to rewrite it for Vision Pro 😊

Prototyping can be fun in Figma and a nightmare when you are new to it. As a self-taught designer, I had to figure everything out the hard way. I thought I had seen it all when I was learning Adobe Photoshop back then in 2012. I discovered Figma four years ago and decided to explore the tool since I had been using Adobe XD and Sketch to create some mockups. When I discovered Figma, I created the prototype I shared in my last post just because it popped into my head when I was in the bathroom 😂. I rushed out and decided to try it immediately, more like a freestyle thing and was never intended to be a real product but could be modified into becoming one if the need arises. But many misunderstood the point, which was using the video to convey a message to other young designers never to skip the process, else you will create the wrong MVP. Probably not my best question, but I asked Sebastian Aho if he can appreciate how fun that 3rd period was: “Yeah — that’s one way to describe it. It was fun. Obviously, to be able to get the result that we wanted — that’s a lot more fun to win. At the end of the day you don’t care how you win as long as you win, but yeah, it was fun.”

I transformed my physical door into a mixed-reality portal that can bring you either to your next room or to magical virtual worlds! You can select where you want to go (like when you choose the floor in an elevator) and then when you open the door, you can exactly go to that place, physical or virtual that it may be. What I love the most is that this demo connects the physicality of the door with mixed reality, so you use a real tool to be able to access virtual realities. I've made this demo using #unity3d and #MetaQuest SDK. I've used Meta Scene Setup, so the demo is fully dynamic: it finds my door and adapts all the interfaces to it. Theoretically, it could work with all sliding doors that work like mine with no modifications to the APK. As usual, I'm thinking of making a blog post where I explain how I did it... let me know if you could be interested! Made another prototype to explore how you can create a voxel with hand-tracking. When you push the main voxel, it generates “wireframe” voxels along its path. The interaction itself feels fun and effortless, but it requires generated voxels to be in a wireframe or ghost mode to avoid overlapping with your hand. Marvel Tokon with a training mode is not gonna save it for me but I’m willing to see where it goes?! The constant interruptions during gameplay, a lot the mechanics are weird as hell, I hate how tagging is in the game, even with quick tag. I can find all the sauce I want but I have to entertain the game systems to get there which right now this might the worst from arcsys I’ve played since 09 Ideally the game would need like an overhaul for me to like it. Here is a spider man thingy

🩷 : I bought a self-improvement book about how to get better at talking to people. I’m really not good at making conversation, especially with people I’m not close to. The version of me around my friends and my fans is exactly the same, but when I’m around other people, I’m actually not very good at making conversation. I was talking with my friends about a conversation I had with a celebrity I follow on social media, even though we’re not close. My friend was like, “Why didn’t you keep the conversation going?” and I replied, “Wait, really? I supposed to do that right?” It probably makes me seem stuck-up, but honestly, I’m just scared. I keep worrying, “What if they don’t want to talk to me?” So I don’t dare to start a conversation or say too much. But my friend told me, 'Just go for it! You never know if they want to talk to you or not. Sure, it might feel a little awkward or funny if it turns out they don't want to talk with you, but that's how you get closer to people.' 👊 Bryson DeChambeau was happy with his strategic play in round 1 of The Open QUESTION: "Bryson, a really good shift today, 3-under 67. A little sour taste on 18, but you must be super proud of your efforts today" BRYSON: "Yeah, it was a hard fought battle out there. The wind was switching quite a bit. It was fun seeing the fans going at us, and they were rooting for all of us. It was fun just seeing the ups and downs of the group, but we all played pretty well. It was a lot of fun" "There's some driving holes out there I've got to work on. Other than that, I played really well. Made some good putts and three-putted once, but that's life" QUESTION: "Talk us through the course. Obviously it's running super fast at the moment. What did you find out after playing a competitive round with card in hand?" BRYSON: "I think you've got to be a lot more strategic out on the golf course. I feel like I did a really good job today of being incredibly strategic and focused super hard on placing it in the right places" "Besides 18, I placed the ball in some good areas. I just need to hit more fairways. Other than that, I feel like my strategy was nice today" QUESTION: "As a group, you all had a relatively good day. Do you think that standard will stay for the afternoon? The wind seems to be picking up a little bit for you boys" BRYSON: "I think so. It's difficult to say what's going to happen. You never know out here. I can say there's a lot of good scores. We're all playing pretty well. I like it when the test is hard and difficult. It definitely makes for a fun championship" QUESTION: "How important is it in a major to start well? It doesn't have to be super well, but you're in the red. That must feel really satisfying" BRYSON: "Yeah, definitely satisfying. Any time you get off to a great start, it's awesome, but there's three more days, dude. There's still a lot of golf to be played. But ultimately from my perspective I was really excited about the way I played" "It was fun playing with Scottie, seeing how good he strikes the ball. That's something -- I've wanted to play with him for a while now. Seeing how he struck the ball today was beautiful" "Makes me think, oh, man, I've got to work on my driving and 3-wood a little bit better because I hit it farther than him, but it sometimes doesn't go straight: QUESTION: "Does it help you maybe lift a little bit when you play with the best player in the world?"
