Imperial shared that the moment that reshaped his path happened in 2021, when his grandmother suffered a mild stroke while also battling Alzheimer's disease at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to him, the family's struggle to navigate her condition during a time of limited access to professional help made him realize the absence of a health professional in their household. "During the pandemic, limited po ang interaction, kaya mahirap humingi ng tulong sa mga professionals regarding sa situation ni Mommy... Doon din nag-sink in sa akin na oo nga, wala kaming health-related professional sa family. Aside from losing my passion for Architecture, yung situation din namin ang naging turning point ko, kaya nag-shift po ako sa Nursing," he recalled. When asked about his message to his grandmother, Imperial said he dedicated his achievement to his grandmother, whom he lovingly calls "Mommy." "Para sa'yo ito, Mommy. Kahit hindi mo man masabi nang malinaw, alam kong ramdam mo at naiintindihan mo ang lahat. Ikaw ang isa sa pinakamalaking dahilan kung bakit ako lumaban at nagpatuloy," he said. It spits on the duty of accountability, while she clings to millions in public funds she refuses to explain. This is arrogance. Out of the 24 jeepney drivers, I always make sure not to cry hearing their stories, but this one… this was the time that I could not control my emotions and tears anymore… Hearing his story really broke my heart. I still remember when we gave him the rice, he said, “Salamat ma’am, dadalhin ko po ito pauwi sa Martes.” I was confused, why Tuesday? Bakit hindi mamayang gabi pag uwi? And then I found out that he goes home to Laguna once a week to save money, and what really broke my heart is that he sleeps in his jeep at night just to have some rest… and from earning 1k, naging 300 na lang? Hindi ko talaga napigilan sarili ko. Ang sakit lang isipin na ganito yung reality ng iba na kailangan nilang tiisin yung pagod, gutom, at lungkot just to survive and provide for their family. Yung simpleng bagay para sa atin, sobrang laki na para sa kanila. It made me realize how blessed we are and how important it is to continue helping in any way we can. Hindi lang ito about giving, but also about understanding their struggles and being present for them kahit sa maliit na paraan. That moment will stay with me. It reminded me why we do this, why we should never stop, and what kind of community we are.

We had a meeting sa UPLIFT Committee and marami tayong kailangan pagawa sa mga batas, mga batas na we were thinking na baka magka-supplemental budget, baka magka- amendahan namin ang mga ibang batas. Ito ay kailangan para makapagbigay tayo ng tulong sa taong bayan dahil nga sa oil crisis. Kung walang session, hindi ko nga maintindihan eh dahil ang pagkakaintindi ko is that ang rules — nag-congressman naman ako, nag-senador din naman ako. Ang rules diyan bago ka mag-cancel ng session, you have to inform the other house three days before you cancel a session and there has to be a very good reason for canceling a session. 2. I don't think na ihahatid mo ang isang senador para pumunta kung saan siya pupunta, hindi yata sapat na dahilan para i-cancel ang isang session. Isang session lang 'yun. Ngayon, kanselado na naman ang isang session. Hindi ko nga maintindihan kung papaano sila magtatrabaho kung ganito. Ang House of Representatives ngayon ay nagtataka kung papaano ba, nagbago na ba ‘yung rules, nagbago na ba 'yung mga patakaran natin kagaya ng mga nakaraan? It is a rule that is contained in the Constitution. 3. I'm afraid all these events that we have been witnessing has thrown the Senate and its leadership, the whole Senate, into disarray. It has discredited the leadership and it has stopped the essential business of legislation in government. The two other departments continue to work. The Executive continues to work. The Judiciary continues to work. Why does the Legislature decide to stop working? I don't understand that. I talked to my fellow senators at the time I was senator and we cannot figure out bakit magkakaganto, anong nangyari, paano tayo napunta rito. 4. The best description I can have is that the Legislature is now in disarray. But that is exactly the opposite from what we are trying to achieve. We are trying to achieve some form of stability so that people can get on with their lives, so that people can plan ahead for their future, so that people can count on the assistance of government during this time of an emergency. And we cannot do that if the Legislature decides to stay at home and have a vacation. That is anathema to everything that governance is about. 5. I never imagined in my entire life, in my entire political life, that such a thing could happen, especially to the august — it's no longer august now — to the august body of the upper house, the Senate of the Philippines. ###

DRAFT BLUE RIBBON REPORT ON FLOOD CONTROL SCANDAL TO RECOMMEND INVESTIGATION, NOT CHARGES, VS. SENATORS JUST IN: Senate blue ribbon committee chairperson Ping Lacson says majority senators have agreed to revise the draft committee report on the flood control scandal, recommending investigation instead of the filing of charges against colleagues implicated in the issue. Lacson says the new draft states that Chiz Escudero, Jinggoy Estrada, and Joel Villanueva are recommended for investigation over possible plunder, bribery, and graft, among other offenses. “Pag sinabing charge, ito yung tumama sa sensitivity ng ibang mga kasama namin baka isipin ng mga tao china-charge sa korte,” Lacson says. “My own colleagues in the majority nag-suggest sila, baka naman pwedeng i-soften… nang hindi ma-sacrifice yung intent. I’m so glad to see you again my amo JOSH CULLEN 🥹 I was actually sad coz I thought Finale was the last concert I could attend to before I migrate to France. 🥺 My initial flight was 14th of June that’s why my VISA starts on 13th but I moved it to 17th not even knowing about the concert yet so imagine how happy I was when I found out you will return to SG for a concert a day before my flight. 😍 People here in SG were telling me that it’s meant to be.. they were even joking and saying stuff like “IHAHATID ka ng amo mo kaya sya pupunta rito..” then after a week, your song SUMAYA came out. Upon hearing it, I was surprised that the lyrics has “Dapat kitang IHATID” and “IHAHATID na lang kita” 🥹 naniwala na tuloy ako na meant to be na ikaw bias ko 🫶🏼 out of all places, out of all days.. sa SG pa talaga yung concert kung saan OFW ako and umabot pa talaga before I migrate.
