I’m not saying mental health treatment doesn’t need to be addressed but that’s not what drew people to this case. People act like women have never suffered from post partum before and killed their kids? Like Lindsay is the FIRST woman to do it. But the support came out for this case. Why? She was a well off, educated, suburban white woman who had EVERY opportunity open to her. Her and Patrick both took of plenty of time from work, they hired a nanny, their parents were available and involved. And when she still struggled he worked more from home. She saw MANY doctors spent one day and then 5 days in hospitals. Did the mental health system fail? Maybe. BUT that doesn’t absolve her of responsibility. Whether she spends time in prison or a mental facility she needs to face some kind of consequence
