🚨Hazardous Weather Update from the NCEM Weather Team 🚨 ⚠️The threat of numerous flash floods has increased for northeastern portions of NC Wednesday and portions of central and eastern NC Thursday. ❗️A rare moderate risk for flash flooding in these areas has been introduced by the National Weather Service. ⛈️The threat for isolated severe storms remains in place for much of NC Wednesday afternoon and evening. The primary impacts will be damaging wind gusts and locally heavy downpours. However, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out for much of central NC and northern portions of eastern NC. 👍Make sure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, especially at night. 👍If you live in a flood prone area, have a plan in place should you need to take protective action. 📌Full Forecast Update: #ReadyNC #ncwx

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY This is a live emergency update on the forecast uptick in severe weather across the central and eastern U.S., starting as a #tornado outbreak on Thursday across the Upper Midwest including Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Missouri. We are taking a deeper dive as we are now 5 days out from this first #tornado threat. We are ramping up our science mission with more rockets and FPV drone deployment planned ahead.
