Age verification CANNOT work. It will NEVER work because humans do not look different one day before and after their 16th birthday.👀 Surely this is obvious? The Under 16 social media bill is a trap. Regardless of what the legislation says, governments know platforms will have to enact Digital...

Well said Senator Antic, but the only problem is that you are member of the Liberal Party and the Liberal Party supports Albanese’s plan to force all Australia have some form of government issued or biometric digital ID to log on to the internet. Senator ANTIC (South Australia) (16:46): I think we all want to see our children protected from harm online, but what's the real cost of a social media ban for children? Firstly, it's not clear to me how an age-specific ban could actually be in force short of requiring all Australians to prove their identity, and therefore their age, before actually using their social media accounts. How would it be done? The only reliable methods that are likely to work are those which require social media accounts to be linked to either a government certified ID, digital ID or biometric data. Immediately, we've gone from talking about a law protecting children under 16 from online harm to proposals potentially requiring all Australians to submit personal identification as a condition of using social media. This is how concerns over safety—in this case, children's safety—convince people to hand over their freedom, to hand over their personal information. Of course, this has nothing to do with the fact that a generation of young people are starting to unpick the lies of the corporate media online, does it? Well, of course it does! What a great way to ensure that young people only get a left-wing government message approved to them via their devices. Frankly, the words 'ban' and 'media' should never exist in a sentence together, and parents should always be in charge of what their children watch and what their children watch online.

Social media ban or big brother control? The government, with support of the Liberals, is proposing a ban on children under 16 accessing social media, justifying the measure by claiming it’s "popular." Oh, really? It’s ironic that the same parties that accuse One Nation of populism are now pushing a measure not because it’s practical, but simply because it’s supposedly popular. A true conservative party Peter Dutton would support parents to supervise their own children in their own homes. A true conservative, Mr Dutton, would not be promoting big government replacing parents. The eGovernment is also trialling age-assurance technology, which uses facial scans of every social media user to confirm they are over 16. If there’s any doubt, the system will cross-check the person’s Digital ID to ensure it matches. In addition to facial scans, the "Assurance AI" will monitor keystrokes, audio patterns and "other measures" to determine the user’s age. By now you may conclude, as I did, that enforcing a social media age limit of 16 would require verifying everyone’s age using the device camera and their Digital ID—which everyone would be forced to have. So much for Digital ID being voluntary. Even adults will need one to continue using social media. Even more alarming is the fact that conversations would be monitored for signs of age, yet what happens to the voice prints and keystroke logs this system collects? To make this work, cameras on devices would need to run constantly to ensure a new user hasn’t hopped on to an existing computer session. This means cameras would always be on, capturing everything - video and audio – that is happening in the room. This creates a perfect scenario for hackers to access the feed. In the unlikely event they can actually make this work, children would move to other platforms that are less regulated, less safe and more prone to child exploitation. One Nation opposes this legislation. The best people to monitor and regulate children’s internet use are parents—not a Big Brother government.

Ireland to be the testing ground in Europe for Chinese-style mandatory Digital ID to access social media. Tánaiste Simon Harris trying to push the narrative that the government's plan to link Digital ID to social media access is necessary to protect the welfare of children. Any thinking person knows the reality is that this is about absolute control and surveillance of every aspect of your life. By connecting social media to Digital ID means that every web page access could be traced back to a specific holder of a Public Services Card in Ireland. This is the start of a digital prison. The EU is in the process of implementing a European Central Bank digital euro. If we go along with this we will be transposed into a CBDC Digital ID cashless society whereby your every financial transaction will be controlled, monitored, traced and tracked. The plan by the Irish government to link Digital ID to access social media is already underway. Social media platforms in Ireland have been contacted by the government to take part in a pilot to be rolled out in March and the government have already announced they intend to put in place legislation later this year to get their dystopian plans over the line. We must RESIST this sinister plan to get mandatory Digital ID through the back door. What is to stop successive governments from implementing a social credit system if you say something online that is against the narrative of the establishment?. Your social welfare benefits and right to work could be restricted by this massive government overreach, if you step out of line. If we do not RESIST this with all our might we face the end of humanity as we know it. A digital prison surveillance planet whereby the global corporations, governments and Bankers have complete control over every aspect of our lives. It is up to us to push back against these draconian plans with all our might. We defeated the government's Referendum. We staved off the controversial Hate Speech 'thought police' Bill. We secured the highest ever spoilt votes in Irish history and, indeed, in Europe. We CAN defeat this attack on our fundamental rights and freedoms IF we join as a cohesive force against the government's plans for a Chinese-style dystopian surveillance society. We owe it to future generations to push back with all our might. #NoDigitalID

People power 1 Government stupidity 0 “Social media companies will not need to verify the age of every user or meet a minimum standard for how many teenagers they boot off their platforms, with the federal government confirming a lighter-touch approach to enforcing its under-16 ban. While the platforms must satisfy the eSafety watchdog that they have taken "reasonable steps" to remove the accounts of those aged under 16, there will be no legally-enforceable standard for accuracy. As expected, platforms will not be told which technology to use for age screening, but will need to ensure their policies are transparent and consistent, and that there is a process for disputes.” ••••••••••••••••••••••• Thanks to Dr Joanne Orlando for this footage. This Digital ID thought bubble gets dumber and dumber. Digital ID is now not going to be enforced for every user and instead to be subject to random spot checks. So much for protecting the children! Furthermore the social media companies are no longer going to be subject to legally enforceable standards. The whole process is a waste of time and just another clumsy attempt at government overreach. As I pointed out last year disadvantaged children (see clip in comments) are going to lose access to their friends on social media that they rely on as they can’t see them physically every day. In other words good people are going to be punished through bad legislation. I also pointed out that children could use VPNs and will find other ways to bypass surveillance. As it stands you could drive a truck through this poorly thought out plan. It’s just another reason to get rid of Albanese and his inept administration. To help us do it please sign up to today.
