Agent mode in Visual Studio allows you to define tasks using natural language, with Copilot autonomously planning, editing your codebase, invoking tools, and iterating to resolve issues. Tried out the new Agent Mode in Visual Studio 17.14 – it’s a game changer. 🚀 Natural language coding feels like the future. No more tedious file edits, just focused problem-solving.

It's pretty sketchy, after a while agent stops servicing the request, 500 errors. Freezes, cant resume. Needs a lot of work, not really production ready tbh. (Paid version) Experienced on multiple platforms, (Mac/PC), varied environments. Send it back to QA please.

IT teams will be thrilled by this, knowing their code and IP of their customers is being sent up as part of the prompts 👍

This is awesome.!There are some projects that simply cannot be run effectively in VS Code. This is good to see.

I think this great - keep up the good work :) Features and suggestions to think about: 1. Use the "@" symbol to reference: files, folders, methods for conversational context 2. Add "more" system prompt context before edits: For example, your app should have used bootstrap cards to display products b/c your app is using the bootstrap library. 3. Less explanation and more working! The output of the chat is too verbose. A diff is typically more helpful than a paper explaining the changes. Dev's can infer what's change instead of explicitly being told. This is Visual Studio! The most advanced editor with the most capabilities targeting a population of developers who are knee deep in engineering and code. That said - lean away from the "vibe" and focus more on productivity.
