Project cost is a WHOPPING ₹1.08 lakh crore. 300 kilometres of viaducts for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project have been completed. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) is executing the 508-km project. Such is the situation at Nagasandra Metro Station, where a massive crowd has gathered, with the queue extending over 1 kilometer as people wait to board. This unprecedented rush of commuters, forced to stand in long lines that spill far beyond the station premises, highlights the strain on the Green Line’s capacity. This overcrowding is primarily due to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) delaying the opening of the remaining three stations on the Green Line. On behalf of #ITforum , #ITemployees we forum for IT employees have submitted a formal request on 14th Sep to hon PMRDA ceo about starting #Hinjawadi metro in phases from ph3 to Baner IT park . Since the entire stretch till shivajinagar station will take more time so keeping employees intrest ahead we hope govt should start metro in phases . If samrudhi highway , pune metro , even flyovers like university circle & singhad flyover were opened in phases then why imp project like hinjawadi metro is kept on hold for entire stretch . Currently from ph3 to baner IT park 90% work is completed so in another 1-2 months this line should we operational instead of waiting for 6-9 months for entire shivajinagar line . Phase II/CP30/TU-01/ – TBM Kolli (S 81) Breakthrough at Otteri shaft Chennai Metro Rail Limited has commenced the expansion of the Chennai city’s metro rail network as part of Phase II after the successful completion of the Phase I and Phase I Extension. CMRL has ventured into an extensive infrastructure development in the city comprising of three more corridors of metro rail for a total length of 116.1 km. Corridor 3 comprising a total alignment length of 45.4 km from MadhavaramMilk colony to Siruseri Sipcot will be spanning across the north to south direction of the Chennai city and has a total of 28 underground stations and 19 elevated stations. Corridor 4 is an east west alignment for a length of 26.1 km connecting the beach front from Light House station to the Depot at Poonamallee has 9 underground stations and 18 elevated stations. Corridor 5 also begins at Madhavaram Milk colony and connects through Koyambedu, Porur, Alandur and other residential/commercial development of the city to Shollinganallur for a total length of 44.6 km with 6 underground stations and 39 elevated stations. The tunnel construction for the first 9 km underground section of Corridor 3 from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Kellys is being executed through M/s Tata Projects limited and mobilized 7 TBMs for the tunnelling works. The TBM Kolli (S 81) tunnel drive started on 11.07.2023 from AyanavaramStation to Otteri station (Up line), covered a bored tunnel length of 903 m and break-through done at Otteri shaft on 29.08.2024. This is the 6th TBM breakthrough carried out by M/s Tata Projects Limited under TU-01 contract. As a whole, CMRL has completed 7 TBM breakthroughs in phase-2 project. The tunnel section between Ayanavaram and Otteri is the most complex tunnel section under the contract TU-01 with major challenges, such as the TBM S 81 (Kolli) first 500m tunnel drive negotiated with sharp 220m radius curve and the last 200m tunnel drive with 280m radius curves. Also, this tunnel drive completed with major challenges such as passing through densely populated areas and addressing more than 100 No. of bore wells along the alignment by providing alternate sources without any issue to the public. The complete tunnel drive was well managed within the allowable minimum settlements and extensive instrumentation and monitoring was ensured throughout the drive. Thiru T. It’s been a year in the works! The chai-brator is still pending until we can settle on a prototype but I’m hoping the next shipment (within a month) passes the basic inspection and we can move forward. Because of its design, it’s made up of two pieces that are permanently adhered together. To make sure it stays water resistant, we need to make sure it has a very good seal. It’s been a year in the works! The chai-brator is still pending until we can settle on a prototype but I’m hoping the next shipment (within a month) passes the basic inspection and we can move forward. Because of its design, it’s made up of two pieces that are permanently adhered together. To make sure it stays water resistant, we need to make sure it has a very good seal. TBM Peacock Breakthrough at Kodambakkam Ramp Chennai Metro Rail Limited is in the process of implementing the much anticipated Phase 2 project across Chennai City in full swing with three corridors for a total length of 118.9 km. CMRL has reached a significant milestone in its Phase 2 expansion with the successful breakthrough of Tunnel Boring Machine “Peacock” (DL 1074) at Kodambakkam Ramp Retrieval shaft near Meenakshi College at Arcot Road today (23.07.2025). This achievement marks a major step forward in the development of Corridor 4, which will span 26.8km from Light House to Poonamallee Bypass. The TBM Peacock tunnel drive, which commenced on May 02, 2024, from Panagal Park Crossover towards Kodambakkam Ramp Retrieval Shaft, has covered a bored tunnel length of 2047m. The main challenge for this tunnel boring was that it had to pass through 190 no’s of building mostly residential out of which more than 50 no’s of buildings were old buildings. Also the TBM had to bore parallel to the active railway line before crossing the multiple railway tracks. The TBM also passed through two churches and below the Kodambakkam flyover. Despite the challenges, this is the longest tunnel of phase 2 with 2.047 km has been achieved without any disturbance to the public and existing traffic. Thiru. T. Lots of the anti-China trolls tell me I don't show cities other than "First tier cities." This is Shijiazhuang. It's a city of 11 million people, larger than New York city, and most westerners have never heard of it. It's a second tier city and the capital of Hebei province. It ranks about 25th in China in terms of population. And it has better infrastructure than any city in the USA: 1. High-speed rail 2. Fully modernized central rail hub – Shijiazhuang Railway Station was completely rebuilt in the 2010s. 3. New airport terminals – Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport’s main terminal is far newer than JFK’s or LaGuardia’s aging ones. 4. Digital payment integration in transit – Near-universal use of QR/mobile pay for buses and subways. 5. Shijiazhuang’s subway stations and trains are newer and fully ADA-accessible by design. 6. Shijiazhuang’s ring roads and arterials are newer and wider than NYC’s constrained highways. 7. Citywide centralized heating 8. Underground utilities – Much of the power and telecom wiring is underground in new districts, unlike NYC’s older overhead and street-pole systems. 9.
