I live on an organic apple farm. 1 The drones cannot get into the Apple Tree where branches prohibit. That excludes about 50% of the Apples. People need to climb inside the branches. 2 They cannot account for worm holes. This discredits 20-30% of the Apples. 3 They cannot thin Apples; a mandatory early summer step, to produce the best apples 4 I can do it faster by hand without dropping the apples every time I release them. No bueno. Humans do better.

Nice concept, in this case this looks less efficient than experienced apple pickers, not sure on ROI on this.. andas someone else pointed out, could be used with robotic arms and computer vision (which was prob available a decade ago) but still... this is where we're headed...

Why do these things have to fly? A robotic arm would do the job just as well, but it would be more reliable.

Reminds me of the Matrix when the squids are plucking humans in the farms.
