META automatically opted all users into its new deepfake AI system “Meta is facing backlash over a new AI feature just rolled out on Instagram” The app is called Muse Image. It allows users to make realistic deepfakes using other people's photos. Any adult with a public Instagram account was automatically included. There are ways to turn it off and opt out, if you don’t do this everything you post of yourself can be used for deepfakes - You go to your settings and search sharing and reuse - Then you scroll down to allow people to ‘create with and reuse your content’ and toggle both of those off
