AI is a glorified search engine that is used to control information & thought, personally I'm not seeing the huge gains bye these pushers of AI, if it's so good it does not need to pushed 24/7 it will take off on it's own, but its not & big money is not happy

Good way to put it.....i.e. I'm just getting into using "Co-Pilot". I write a lot of technical reports and it is amazing how in a blink of an eye it can reformat.....make things more clear of what i've written....and research/check my references. It is really cool....it "amplifies" what I originally write...and makes it better. It does not "artificially" write it.

I still think of AI as a calculator. If you never learned calculus, the limits of what you can do with a calculator are basic. But the greater your mathematical knowledge, the greater the potential a calculator offers. It becomes an intelligence amplifier.

I'll disagree, I feel it has made discussing technical or legal matters more difficult. Ppl just search the answer they want on a free AI and repeat that. It is replacing peoples minds, many people that only found out about LLMs last year and call them all Chatgpt.

I completely agree. AI is a force multiplier for humans. If someone is creative, AI makes them more creative. If they’re evil, AI will enable them to be even more evil. It has needs but no “wants”. It’s desires are only a reflection of the human that is promoting it

It does though… studies already show decreased brain activity in the human mind when outsourcing your cognitive load to AI. We’ll all be brain dead with superintelligence running every part of our lives.
