AI video doesn’t need another infinite slop machine. It needs a showrunner. Using MiniMax H3 Max, thanks fal, I built "THIS WAY", a live film engine that remembers characters, arcs and consequences. The audience votes live. Two futures generate ahead. The winner becomes canon and the story keeps unfolding.... show more

@fal YES! Thank you......... this is the EXACT thing (minus the full realtime) that I was picturing i my mind.

@fal Unsure I'll break the internet though. And it's still a demo too

@fal Still by far the best thing I have seen built with this yet. I'd have loved to build something with this too but I just don't have the capacity (or bank roll) to self fund it right now

@fal Credit wise I spent like 30 bucks so far :) model is cheap if you don't open the tap. The rest is vibecoding with Codex

@OdinLovis @gorkem . Thanks for the access.

@fal Persistent characters, arcs, and canon are what make this feel more like a living story than a generation tool

@fal Definitely

@fal one thing worth watching: a showrunner protects one vision, and letting the audience vote on canon pulls it toward crowd-pleasing. are the votes steering the story, or just picking the branch people already wanted?

@fal Right now, the way it's built : you have a main storyline with beats you choose from the start and an end point you want to have. The choice of users shouldn't make the story less interesting, so the idea is that whatever way you go to, you should still hit the beats

@fal It's cool idea. Choose your own adventure FTW

@fal Yup

Oh tagging @venturetwins for posterity

The memory part is the actual step forward. Infinite generation stopped being interesting the moment everyone had it, and what almost nobody has is continuity, a character who still wants the same thing three scenes later. Audience voting makes that harder in a useful way, since canon has to survive branches. Curious how you hold state, per character sheets or one running world summary.

@fal Canon is the key word here. Branching narratives usually get messy fast, keeping continuity sounds like a serious engineering challenge.

@fal Definitely and this is why this is a demo for now. Working but still

@fal haha i'm in the middle of making something like this too but having a lot of issues so far... excited to try it out

@fal Aha I figured I was from being the only one

@fal An interesting angle I see people getting into this.

@fal Thanks man

@fal Definitely gotta chat. Sent you a DM in Google too.

@fal This looks great, most of the choose-your-own-adventure-style video / game apps I've seen are from China so far, using models like Seedance and now MInimax H3. It's a pity Sora got copyright-slammed so quick, they could have led this.

@fal this is pretty cool

@fal Oh man this looks so sick 🤙🤙

@fal This is why we have more and more reasons to believe that we live in someone else's simulation...or rather, in someone else's Showrunner

Love this idea. The showrunner framing is really interesting. What I’m most curious about is how far the consequences of a vote can carry. If something I chose 10 episodes ago can still change what happens now, that feels like a completely different kind of storytelling. Really cool direction.

@fal Normally not. Regardless of decisions the plot should still converge somehow

@xinqiliu888 @fal You have a dashboard authoring tool I assume. Think cards. Connect them.

@xinqiliu888 @fal Working on it

@fal Interesting. I am working on something since months that is partially similar. I believe you’ll think bigger very soon. Ontologies, deterministic storylets, systems, story sifting etc. will follow

@fal That's what I am worried about...Getting too far and getting a factory we cannot really use

@fal Don‘t be afraid. With the power of frontier models the bottleneck is narrow vision.

@fal

@fal very cool! want to put a video made using this up on SMTV?

@fal How much per cycle tho

@fal This. Is. Gold.

@fal dope🔥🔥

@fal Have been dreaming about this concept for some time. Love seeing it put into action.

@fal Still a lot to solve but it shows potential

@fal Now we’re talking

@fal So excited about gamifying choose your own adventure type experiences in entertainment.

@fal I mean there were attempts, but I guess if it's frictionless it can be a lot more interesting

@fal Yes, I was excited about it in the past, but perhaps it was too early due to the friction as you mentioned. Maybe the timing is right now with all the new tools.

@fal I think prompt adherence is still not where it should be to be able to REALLY be fully interactive. It works yes, it generates on the fly yes, but it means it's as good as the model behind

@fal Definitely. I think models need to better understand how humans interact in the physical world and the cause and effect of their actions. Something world models and others are trying to solve.

@fal So much Fun

@fal @kevinafischer check this

@fal this. is. the. way.

@fal showrunner is the winner over slop machines all day

@fal so cool

@fal omg this is so cool

@fal I love the parallel paths here, so cool. Does this tie-in to the Twin Peaks-esque world you were building/collaberating on many months ago? Teens in a Pacific Northwest town IIRC? Looks like a similar vibe.

@fal This is super cool and yes more storytelling less pixels for the sake of pixels

@fal This is very cool, great idea!

@fal looking forward to an access for trial!
