A series of Iranian drone attacks has struck a camp housing civilian family members of the PDKI, with a hospital also reported among the sites hit. The attack is a serious humanitarian and legal breach, as both civilians and medical facilities are protected under international law. We ask Israel to give World Health Organization (WHO) and our partners access to the north so we can reach those who desperately need aid. Under international humanitarian law, all actors have a duty to ensure health care is protected, and not attacked.

Refugees in a Chadian camp are reporting cases of abuse and exploitation, alleging that humanitarian personnel are forcing them to have sex - withholding food, shelter and security if they refuse. Although aid organisations have banned (even consensual) sex between workers and beneficiaries, such cases have been reported for decades. Yet, save for repetitive statements of condemnation, there seem to be no consequences for those who abuse their position of power.

ICE abducted a Ukrainian woman at San Francisco International Airport on July 22. There has been a disturbing increase in ICE abduction of Ukrainians who fled russia’s war and came to the United States legally under temporary humanitarian programs. As those protections expire, many are being hunted down by ICE and face deportation back to a country that is still under daily missile and drone attacks. Unlike what Trump and MAGA want you to believe, these are not criminals. They are refugees who escaped one of the most brutal wars of the 21st century. Forcing them back into a war zone is a humanitarian failure that will stain America’s conscience.
