Airbus has consequently identified a significant number of A320 Family aircraft currently in service which may be impacted. Airbus has worked proactively with the aviation authorities to request immediate precautionary action from operators via an Alert Operators Transmission (AOT) in order to implement the available software and/or hardware protection, and ensure the fleet is safe to fly. The first of two Airbus A400Ms ordered by Kazakhstan was handed over to the customer after a ferry flight from Airbus’ A400M Final Assembly Line in Seville, southern Spain, a few days earlier. I’ve been in close contact with Airbus about their software update recall for the A320 and the airlines that use them. Here’s an update: ✅Working with my team and the The FAA ✈️, U.S. carriers jumped into action to complete these updates quickly with minimal disruptions. Thankfully, only a small percentage of flying aircraft nationwide required this immediate software patch. ✅All impacted U.S. carriers have reported great progress, and are on track to meet the deadline of this Sunday at midnight to complete the work. ✅Travelers SHOULD NOT expect any major disruptions. Be on the lookout for communication from your airlines. I’m grateful for the swift cooperation across the industry to keep America’s skies safe.
