Al Gore was promoting hysteria as a pretext for selling the public a bill of goods. He was like “The Music Man” warning small town Iowans about the dangers of a pool table in their community—without the charm or wit. But he did make a fortune.

I wanted to buy huge tracts of northern land when I heard this. Figured when the tundra melted it would be rich, fertile land due to its being shielded for the last 10,000 years. Glad I didn’t.
