Been beating this drum for awhile now since Keelon Russell was an SMU recruit and Luke Metz was a nobody. They might be THE best at finding the 3 stars that are gonna rise.

Stars good, but not dispositive. 2024 Rose Bowl: Bama had 18 five*, 56 four*, 10 three*. Bama had 71 players with recruiting rating > 90. Michigan had 2 five*, 45 four*, 38 three*. Only 41 players had recruiting rating 90 or higher. Courtney Morgan helped build that UM roster.

Big facts. They are still competing for high level talent but also able to find great pieces that are under the radar. So many 5 stars become just guys on the college level. Big names aint gonna always turn into stars. Talent evals and development are still the name of the game!

People forget Josh Jacobs and how he was rated 3 stars coming out of high school. They only react this way bc they want Alabama to be a laughing stock now that Saban isn’t coaching anymore.
