This needs repeating. Theory of mind is the ability to recognize that others have thoughts and emotions separate from your own. Lower levels of IQ are associated with a reduced capacity for theory of mind, or its absence. The average IQ in Africa is around 68 to 70.

The evidence does not prove that every racist has a low IQ, but it does show that lower cognitive ability is a meaningful predictor of greater prejudice. In plain English: racism is what happens when a weak mind tries to make the world simple enough for itself.
