On November 23, 2024 at approximately 3:20 a.m., a spa in the area of Dufferin Street and Wilson Avenue in Toronto was robbed at gunpoint by three suspects. An hour later, at approximately 4:20 a.m., a second robbery occurred at a spa in the area of Birchmount Road and 14th Avenue in Markham. Three suspects forced their way into the business while armed with a firearm. They stole one of the victim’s vehicles and fled with a quantity of cash. In both incidents the suspects arrived in a stolen white Acura. On November 28, 2024, investigators located the stolen Acura and three suspects were taken into custody for possession of the stolen vehicle. On December 6, 2024, at approximately 1 a.m., a third armed robbery of a spa occurred in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Steeles Avenue in Toronto. On December 8, 2024, two additional robberies were reported, one at approximately 3:20 a.m., in the area of Carlingview Drive and Renforth Drive, and the other at 3:45 a.m., in the area of Finch Avenue and Keele Street. In both incidents the suspects arrived at the scene in a stolen Toyota Highlander. On December 10, 2024, two search warrants were executed at residences in the City of Toronto with the assistance of the York Regional Police Emergency Response Unit. One suspect was taken into custody. A warrant has been issued for an additional suspect, and investigators are seeking to identify two other outstanding suspects. NEW: Police are searching for two teens who robbed a lemonade stand at gunpoint in Boston. Two children were running a lemonade stand in South Boston when police say “masked juveniles” robbed the boy and his sister. The two suspects, described as boys about 14 and 11, asked the children running the stand if they accepted Apple Pay. One of the suspects then flashed a gun in his waistband before stealing their cashbox, which contained about $50. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them so they can make arrests. The children say they aren't letting the robbery stop them. They have since reopened their lemonade stand.

GRIMSBY, ONTARIO - NIAGARA REGION - For the third time within about four months, Harmony Jewellers in Grimsby has been the target of robbers. But tactics used by the culprits seem to be escalating. Instead of using sledgehammers to smash the windows of the Main Street West business or walking in during store hours, those responsible this time drove a vehicle into the storefront. About 11:25 a.m. Thursday, Apr. 24 a black pickup truck crashed in reverse through the front window. Video of the scene taken seconds after the crash and sent to Niagara This Week appeared to show four masked males fleeing the store amid the blasting of the store’s alarm and shouts from people on the street. The robbers appeared to be carrying bags and at least one sledgehammer. A man could be heard on the video shouting “There they go!” as the males ran down a sidewalk and then across the street into a waiting white SUV-style vehicle. The video showed another man chasing the suspects and smashing the windshield and side windows of the getaway car before it pulled into traffic, made a U-turn and headed east on Main Street West at a high rate of speed. On Jan. 18, six people smashed the front entrance of the business with small sledgehammers, entered the store, broke into several display cases and snatched merchandise, police said. The suspects quickly left the store and fled in a truck, which was later recovered in Hamilton. On Feb. 15, three people, estimated to be aged 16 to 18, attempted to rob the jewelry store. At about 3 p.m., they entered the store wearing masks and carrying backpacks. Their suspicious activity prompted store employees to implement theft prevention measures. Police said the measures stopped the suspects from entering any further and they left the store with no items stolen.

While Chicago police officers were conducting an investigatory stop at the location, a suspect fled into a nearby apartment building, CPD Superintendent Larry Snelling said during a a.m. news conference Friday. The officers pursued the suspect into the building, where they encountered a different suspect who was armed with a rifle, Snelling said. The suspect fired the rifle, and an officer also shot their weapon during the incident. A 36-year-old female officer was shot and was taken to the University of Chicago hospital in a squad car, officials told ABC7. She later died due to her injuries, Snelling said. The deceased officer's name was not yet released. She was with the department for four years at the 6th District and was a mother, Snelling said. Multiple people were taken into custody after the shooting, Snelling said. Charges are pending as police investigate. No other injuries were reported. A large police presence could be seen by ABC7's crews near the location of the shooting late Thursday evening. Air1 Assists TPS in Locating Suspects in Shooting Investigation The DRPS Air1 helicopter assisted Toronto Police Service in the arrest of two suspects in a shooting investigation. On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at around 4:00 p.m., officers from Central West Division responded to the area of Thickson Road North and Taunton Road East after receiving information from Toronto Police Service that two suspects involved in a shooting in Toronto earlier that afternoon were in the area. Air1 conducted an aerial search of the area and located the suspect vehicle in a driveway of a residence in Whitby. Shortly after, the vehicle left the residence and Air1 followed the vehicle into Oshawa, providing updates to TPS and DRPS officers on the ground. At one point, the suspect got into another vehicle, which Air1 began to follow. At approximately 5:15 p.m., units were able to box in the vehicle the suspects fled on foot. Air1 followed one suspect, and he was taken into custody. At approximately 6:00 p.m. Air1 located the second suspect in a nearby playground and he was taken into custody. The suspects, identified as Ewendeze De-Grace (19), Eruweghene Amede (20), and Chukwuemeka Arinze (21), were immediately arrested. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of the Aro Bagger Confraternity. The suspects and the recovered fir£arm are in custody while investigation is ongoing.
