UEFA have confirmed that they are aware of an allegation that European football's governing paid off an alleged mistress of Gianni Infantino. The Telegraph are reporting that while Infantino was general secretary at UEFA, a woman who was allegedly in a relationship with the now FIFA president received a six figure sum. According to The Telegraph, UEFA paid for the individuals MBA after she left. In a statement to The Telegraph, a FIFA spokesperson said: “FIFA president Gianni Infantino strongly denies these allegations, and they are categorically untrue. Any insinuation of inappropriate conduct or violation of statutes or regulations is defamatory. "No employee at UEFA and FIFA has ever raised a complaint regarding Mr Infantino’s behaviour because there never was an incident where he was involved. UEFA told Sky Sports News that an individual was paid but this was in line with regulations at the time - which have since be tightened. In a statement to Sky Sports News, UEFA said: "We are aware of the allegations and can confirm a departure payment was made to the individual in question, coupled with the payment of fees for a MBA course at a local business school. "The payment was in line with the regulations that existed for departing staff at the time. Such regulations have been tightened since 2016 and the current staff regulations - which apply to all UEFA employees at whatever level - reflect those found in a modern, high-profile organisation." Infantino worked at UEFA from 2000, until leaving in 2016, when he took up his current role at FIFA. FIFA has been contacted for comment by Sky Sports News.

But we delude ourselves if we think that it will be capable of moving with the speed, the will and the determination needed to keep the peace without such a lead from nation states. The United Nations depends on consensus and that is simply not an adequate basis for action or for readiness to take combat risks (as we have seen in Bosnia). Act in concert, yes. But act by consensus and you may not act at all. Indeed, as I've so often said, consensus is the negation of leadership. If we attempt to rely solely on the United Nations, we shall soon learn that it is an institution where copious resolutions become a substitute for effective action.

I am not yet coming to any definitive conclusions on the strike that killed the schoolgirls in Iran. There is mutually conflicting information, and we have seen these types of tragedies get weaponized and propagandized. If it was the result of an American strike, I have no doubt it was not deliberate. From what I understand, the school was adjacent to an IRGC “target”. It is possible it was struck by accident, or tangentially as part of an attack on an IRGC target (setting aside arguments that Iran would have placed a girls school adjacent to an IRGC establishment for these specific reasons, or that any strike on an IRGC target should not have occurred if there was a school in the vicinity). It is also possible it was struck by an errant Iranian missile. The problem with Trump’s answer - or more specifically from the follow-up answer from Hegseth, is that Hegseth’s answer “we’re certainly investigating” undermines Trump’s statement. I am not one of those who believes the US deliberately targets children. Civilian death, and the death of children, is the inevitable consequence of these wars. How many tens of thousands of innocent children were killed in Iraq? And how heinously has Madeleine Albright’s assertion that “it was worth it” aged… These were our very concerns with this type of war.

(mosque) We’ve been keeping an eye on the situation and, so far, the main concern we’ve heard from local residents has been the volume of vehicles parking in the surrounding streets. There are also concerns as young children play nearby and the increase of traffic. Today, we were informed of an incident where a local resident reportedly asked for a vehicle to be moved because it was blocking access to her drive. It has been alleged that this led to an altercation, with claims that she was pushed and threatened. We understand part of the incident was filmed shortly afterwards. At this stage, these are allegations and we cannot verify exactly what happened. WATCH | We have received more information regarding the Volkswagen Amarok double-cab (registration number ACR 1827) that has been parked at Chikwanha Shopping Centre in Chitungwiza. The vehicle has been parked there for the past two weeks, and the person who left it there has not been seen since.
