Alexander O’Neal. If You Were Here Tonight

My FAVORITE song of his and I rarely see it mentioned. I gotta be careful when I play this cuz it’ll end up on repeat for a week lol

Either 87 or 88. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis put their foot/elbow/back into this LP....Alexander O'Neal's debut album...you can see/hear the ladies reactions. That whole album was stellar....pure CLASSIC.

Classic. Still one of the greatest love ballads of all time.

This man was singing for his life … with that Terry and Jimmy Jam production!

I really do miss this era of R&B.

Always loved this song.

No one can ever take away the great R&B decade of the 80s.

My song and sevyn streeter version

Early 80s, in New Orleans. Slow draggin’, eyes closed, inhaling his scent, allowing him to take the lead…this song is an all time favorite of mine… ❤️🫦🔥

Soul Train was the bomb

Go ahead Mr O'Neal & Man I had just turned 20yo & he ushered me into Adulthood with some great Music 🎶 💯👍🏽

Still a fav 🔥🔥🔥🔥
