This is a much more interesting signal than the headline suggests. Algorand has now crossed 1 million post-quantum transactions on mainnet, using quantum-resistant cryptography, while its native Falcon-1024 accounts went live with the latest protocol upgrade. The key point is that Algorand isn't merely marketing a theoretical “quantum-resistant” roadmap. It is already putting the cryptography into production. Its broader roadmap targets quantum resilience across accounts, wallets, multisig and eventually consensus by the end of 2027. My take: The market may be losing interest in the quantum narrative but that doesn't make the underlying technological risk disappear. In fact, this is exactly where infrastructure investing gets interesting. If quantum computing eventually becomes a genuine threat to today's cryptographic assumptions, networks that designed for migration before Q-Day could possess a significant strategic advantage. The market is usually very good at pricing what matters today. It is much less efficient at pricing what may become existential five or ten years from now. So the real question isn't: “Is the quantum narrative dying?” It's: “Who will already be ready when the narrative comes back?” Algorand may be positioning itself for that moment. The technology has moved beyond theory; now the question is whether that technological advantage translates into developers, liquidity, institutions and economic activity. Quantum resistance is infrastructure. Infrastructure compounds quietly until the market suddenly realizes it matters.
