Why wasn’t it a greater emphasis in the last CBA?

@Audience__of1 Serious question, what kind of synthetic surfaces are being used in the NFL? I know they aren’t just the old “Astro turf” laid on top of concrete but are they like the synthetic turf w/ rubber pieces within the surface because that seems like a pretty forgiving surface

@DavidBakhtiari Interestingly enough, when you turn off injuries in Madden, the game now simulates the transition from artificial turf to natural grass at all stadiums featuring turf playing fields, starting with MetLife. I stand with the Players and with no injuries in Madden.

@DavidBakhtiari If players really care about the playing surface they would make it part of their decision when it’s free agency time.

@DavidBakhtiari You would think the Teams would have a $$ cost of turf injuries vs cost of replacement. Just do it.

Here's a better question: Why is Lambeau Field the only NFL field using SISGrass, which is a 95% natural grass field with PE fibers stitched in to stabilize the playing surface and both prevent chunks from dislodging when wet and minimizing field-recovery between games?
