'Kamba Ramayanam' is a great example of Ramayanam in Tamil, written by Kambar. It's not an exact translation of the 'Valmiki Ramayana'. A lot of Tamil thought also goes into it - the way of life on the sea coast, mountains, lifestyles - all that is infused into the Ramayana of Kamba. It was severely criticised by the Dravidian movement. A very prominent Tamil political leader wrote a very abusive version of some elements of the Ramayana, which were on Shringara Rasa. It was written in such a fashion that the Ramayana was treated as obscene. For many years, in the name of opposing ‘Hindi imposition’, there is a practice of not allowing the study of Hindi & Sanskrit in Tamil Nadu. It is to an extent that we cannot learn Hindi or Sanskrit even if we wish to. You have every right to develop the Tamil Language. But you don’t have the right to prevent those who are willing to learn Hindi or Sanskrit. But you don’t allow us to study Hindi or Sanskrit. - Smt Nirmala Sitharaman. (1/n)

Reza Pahlavi: You know, from the first day I started, I considered my mission in life to bring the country to a point that we can have that final referendum and the people elect their first democratic government in the future. That to me is the finish line and mission accomplished in life. I don't have any personal ambition. I'm not seeking power. I don't want to have a crown on my head or a title, but I think that they should look at me as a bridge to that destination and not the destination itself. That's my focus. And any other argument about whether or not I will have a future role is placing a cart before the horse. My focus is on delivering on what I promised forty-seven years ago. That has been my commitment, and the reason millions of people in Iran are calling my name and want my return is because they know that they can trust me on this. I'm the only person that was not part of the revolution or ever associated with this regime. And that's a big plus when it comes to how many candidates are out there. That's why you hear my name chanted on the streets of Iran, and a lot of people in the diaspora support it as well.

I want to convey a message to the Income Tax Department. You're not just tax collectors. You're the face of the government's relationship with the taxpayer. Since you're the face of the government's relationship with the taxpayer, this new law gives you a clearer and leaner framework to make it simple, to make it simpler for people who want to understand it better. It must be administered with empathy, fairness and efficiency. I expect every officer to internalise the spirit of this new law. The taxpayer is not your adversary. I was fascinated after meeting Thiru Brian Linebaugh in our office today. Brian is from California who was intrigued by the Tamil Language at the age of 19 and decided to learn it three decades ago from a Tamil professor in Madurai. Married to a person from Tamil Nadu, Brian is invested in letting the world know the beauty of the Tamil language and is presently working on a documentary that details the different dialects of the Tamil language spoken today. My sincere appreciation to Brian’s efforts & wish him success in all his future endeavours! எத்திசையும் புகழ் மணக்க இருந்த பெரும் தமிழணங்கே!

Today I found a bug in the car used by my family. I called the police, and I will deal with this matter. I will also raise this issue in Parliament and at the PACE sessions. Ukraine is a country of law and order. That is how it should be. And I will not allow anyone to turn it into a country of threats, pressure and lawlessness. Many representatives of the Ukrainian authorities do not like what I do, particularly my fight against corruption and human rights violations in Ukraine. Therefore, everything must be done in accordance with the law.
