✨ Grok's new Imagine video model also comes with an Edit model We know edit models for images, you submit an image, write a prompt what to change, but this is the first time I've seen a proper edit model for video And it kinda works, not great yet though but it does something Here I had to remove the old name "Nomad List" in the video for my site First it said "Go nomad -> Nomad List", so I prompted it "remove the text Nomad List. do not change anything else", it didn't remove it but it replaced it with just "Go nomad" again, okay good enough Useful because otherwise I'd have to scour my backups for the original video in Final Cut Pro, and this is faster One thing you see is it changes the pattern on the door also, but that's okay for now if I fade it in

messy inputs 👉🏽 polished outputs built a prototype with the idea of letting users bring together images from Lummi into a canvas, quickly wireframe a concept, and then generate polished images as a photo, illustration, 3d render, whatever—with the right lighting, shadows, cohesive colors, and all that good stuff the output is still not great... but this is where I see the future of creative tools heading—kind of like how you give ChatGPT an idea for an email—all the messy bits—and it writes it for you in any tone or style you want in a clear way. now imagine that but for design or imagery

Seedance 2.5 launched today. But it fairly disappointed me. In terms of the realistic side, I know it's doing very good! But for the anime side, it's a true regression. The model has an insane amount of noise that is literally so weird. Fast-paced actions feel like paintings, not true anime anymore. I don't know what happened with the training of this model, but in terms of anime, it became a true regression. There is better camera work on 2.5! That's for sure, but the quality took a heavy, heavy hit (art style as well). I hope Dreamina AI sees this. But a fix is needed because anime is totally broken on this model at the current moment.

This is by FAR the clearest footage we have seen of the man who lit the bomb, dropped it at an officer's feet and fled. It happens so fast it's hard to see, so I've slowed the footage and added arrows so you can see it. He literally drops it RIGHT AT the feet of an officer.

Here is a 3D visualization of the coming solar storm using model parameters from NASA's run, NOAA's run (shown below), and the coronagraph views from STEREO-A/COR2 and SOHO/LASCO. The storm is expected to hit Earth early December 9. The 3D visualization clearly shows the low inclination orientation of the solar slinky core inside the larger storm envelope. Of course, the earlier eruption that erupted to the northeast, might deflect this structure a little bit, but likely that will only make the structure move more towards the ecliptic plane, which will give us a larger chance of crossing through the solar slinky core. One nice thing about low inclination flux rope cores is that they almost ALWAYS have southward field in them at some point. So this is good news for aurora photographers-- as long as this solar storm stays true to its launch trajectory and inclination, we could see some organized southward pointed magnetic field. Considering this solar storm is fast-- that usually indicates the storm will not deviate much from its original launch trajectory! What the hell does Quant actually do? A model is trained in BF16, released in Q8, and we use Q4 because we're told 'its nearly lossless'. Fine, but I was curious about the 'nearly' part, what is actually being lost between BF16 all the way down to Q2? As always, its complicated. Needed a way to visualize the loss, so I had a Qwen 3.8 27B BF16 create a paragraph then had every quant below it do the same and marked the mutations. When a model writes a word, it assigns 'how sure' percentage to each. For example, 'The weather tomorrow is *windy*, a model is 90% sure all the words are correct except the windy part, since it can also be sunny, cold, hot, cloudy, etc. Any words a BF16 model was 90% sure of, every quant down to Q2 rarely changes it. On the other hand, any word that it was only 40~50% sure of, such as windy in our example, are the types of data that gets impacted by the quant process. Okay so what, some words changed, how does this impact anything? I set out to find out, and its all below if you are just as weird as I am about these things.
