This American needs to lead the Department of Education “This is my audition to become the head of the US Department of Education - My first act of office will be immediately abolishing the No Child Left Behind Act. Yes, we will be leaving children behind. If they fail a class, they will have to repeat it - My second act is one that I'm very passionate about. We will be bringing zeros back. If you don't know, in many schools in the US right now, students receive 40% or 50% if they do zero work, if they do not complete an assignment. And my school included, and many other schools, are not going to be allowed to give a student a 50% if they do not turn in any work. They will have to receive a zero. Likewise, there will be no completion grades, If you just attempt an assignment, that doesn't mean you get a 55%. Like, if you get a 1 out of 10, you earned a 10% on that assignment, and that's okay. Sometimes failing happens, and we don't need to just inflate the grades just for fun. Grades will reflect students' actual performance and understanding of the content - The third one I'm very excited for as well. Teacher evaluations will take place once a year and teachers will be observed by another current teacher from a different school. Teachers would volunteer to be evaluators. They would get a sub for the day, no questions asked, and then they would evaluate objectively. That way the person evaluating you does not know you and does not have any personal bias towards you. Hopefully. - The fourth one, I think this should be common sense, but I hear that it happens all the time at some schools. Never at mine. But teachers shouldn't be expected to work for free. I hear elementary teachers are doing these before and after work things that they aren't getting paid for, like lunch duty or recess duty or pickup duty, whatever it is. The school needs those things covered. People can volunteer for it, and then they have to get paid for it. They can't force you to cover other people's classes for free. They have to pay you extra if they're gonna take away your lunch or your prep or whatever time that is supposed to be yours and then force you to do something without getting paid. There will be no more voluntelling. Hire this woman. The most important thing we need to do is hold students back and force them to learn the work. No more dumbing down out standards

And what's coming next is going to make 2008 look like a joke.” — “I'd stay prepared. I'm not trying to go super doom and gloom on you, but if this whole thing goes bad really fast, the economy takes a hit, things keep going with bricks the way they're going, cash will still get you by for a period of time. If you're not paying attention to this situation, I think you probably should. You should probably put this on your radar. I know that there's a hundred things going on all the time. This is just how things happen. Gotta keep you chasing your tail. They cannot give you enough time to adequately do enough research to be properly educated on an issue. This customer signed a contract for some concrete work. He’s concerned because a friend told him that the job the contractor did could not be good because they got it done so quickly and is now refusing to pay the full amount, only $600 now and will pay the rest once the concrete cures and he sees it’s ok. I see this from both sides however I think he should pay the amount he agreed on. Most contractors warranty their work. If anything was to happen afterwords then I would expect them to come fix it. I wouldn’t without someone’s livelihood because of that. I understand that with any job there is a risk involved. Most of the time the work is done to my liking and there is no issues. On those rare occasions that things happen then I must trust that the contractor will do the right thing based on the contract we both signed. This principle applies to everything we encounter in life from cars to appliances we buy. I think the warranty is what protects us from faulty or defective services or products. I wouldn’t be surprised if the contractor files a lien on his home, I would expect that to happen. The homeowner should just do the right thing and fulfill his end of the bargain by paying for what he agreed upon.

Hochul on Data Centers: You have these big companies come in. One company at 50 megawatts—that’s the equivalent of powering 50,000 homes, just one company. So I had to step back and say we need to pause here. We are the first in the nation to have a statewide moratorium on the issuance of permits to allow these projects to go forward. What this is going to do is allow us to have a list for local communities. If you want them to come to your community, that is a community’s choice. But here’s a whole list of things you should be asking for. I’m also demanding that if you come here, you have to provide your own power or pay a premium into our grid. You’re not going to make ratepayers pay more. You’re also going to contribute to a larger grid resiliency fund that I’m setting up with those proceeds because I need to reinforce and expand our entire grid. Also, you should not be getting tax breaks. New Yorkers pay enough. They don’t think their hard-earned taxpayer dollars should be given to you so that you can avoid paying taxes yourself while the rest of us are paying our full freight. If someone comes to New York, we want you to be successful, but others have to be successful as well. You’re not going to build your future while jeopardizing and sacrificing the future of others in a community—especially these smaller communities, where they seem to be preying on the locals and just forcing their way in the door.

Hospital WHISTLEBLOWER 🚨 New policy is making emergency room employees hand out papers to “old people” saying they will be billed $3,500 per day if their insurance doesn’t cover their visit She says this is to scare them from staying for the health insurance companies “I’m having a moral and ethical dilemma and I don't know who else to share it with. I work at a hospital in an emergency room and part of my job is to deal with insurance stuff and the hospital I work for now has added this paper that I have to give to old people and try to make them sign who are in the emergency room and sometimes people like can go to get physical therapy and stay at a nursing home from the emergency room and we just hold them there until it's time to go based on their insurance. But they want me to give these poor old people this piece of paper that says you may have to pay $3,500 a day for your stay if your insurance doesn't cover it. And it feels so dirty and I feel like a shitty human for having to give these things out and yeah, what do you do? What do you do? You may have missed this news recently - the health insurance system in America is so broken, that the Trump administration is quietly rewriting the Affordable Care Act and buried deep in a monstrous 1,000+ page document is a ploy to let health insurance companies start lending money to patients to pay for their medical care. That's right: if you get hit with a devastating diagnosis or an unexpected emergency, your "insurance" company won't just pay the bill... they'll offer you a loan instead. So you can go deeper into debt to the very same industry that's already failing you. Let me say that again. You pay health insurance so that you'll be insured in a time of a health crisis. Already, health insurers are denying nearly 20% of claims and out of pocket expenses keep rising. So instead of them paying your bill, which is what you pay the insurance for, they'll now be incentivized to deny even more bills or raise out of pocket expenses in order to cash in on the interest they'll be collecting. Erica Stanford says we need more migrants because Kiwis aren’t having enough babies. A few thoughts: 1. Falling birth rates are a real public problem that we need to solve - if that goes on forever the population dies out. No bigger fail than that. 2. Replacement migration doesn’t solve this problem, it makes it worse - now not only are we not having enough children, we’re losing our country to foreigners. There is even some evidence that migration depresses native birth rates. 3. The Ponzi scheme that is superannuation, and our house-price driven economy are important economic drivers of this problem - we need to move toward retirement being self-funded and growing our wealth through the real economy rather than buying houses. 4. To the extent that we need migrants “to help the economy” they should only be truly highly skilled, and temporary so they go home when the job is done. If you let them stay and pay their super/healthcare etc you haven’t solved the Ponzi scheme issue, you’ve just kicked the can down the road. The permanent residence pathway should be closed off. 5. New Zealand already has at least a million people here who have arrived in recent decades and aren’t Kiwis in any real sense. In the long run this will tear our country apart. We need to be thinking about voluntary return incentives and other measures that countries like Sweden are implementing to address this problem.

Parliament debated the Copyright Amendment Bill 12.03.26 during its 2nd reading, & the discussion raised several concerns. 1-The Rt. Hon. Speaker AAA asked why radio stations like her own mama bukedea should pay royalties to creators (artists) yet the stations are already promoting their work by playing their music. 2-Another MP argued that artists themselves often pay DJs and media hosts to promote their music, questioning why radio stations should still be required to pay royalties. 3-One submission called for a cost benefit analysis of the bill to clearly show what Artists stand to gain or lose if the law is passed. 4-Concerns were also raised about artists who may want their music promoted for free without media houses paying royalties. Dont they have liberty to choose? 5-Another MP argued that once an artist releases their music, it becomes public, and therefore people should be free to use it however way they wish without payment. 6-A further suggestion was that if artists want this bill passed, government should also begin taxing their revenue & income from public performances sighting zero tax compliance yet they want to be paid. The debate was eventually cut short due to a lack of quorum.
