If she’s offered a raise, should she refuse? Of course, these things sound silly but these are actual options some couples have considered in their homes to preserve the peace. Sometimes, the man actually starts out earning more but calamity strikes and his business/career goes downhill. So the once ‘balanced’ household turns upside down because the woman now pulls most of the financial weight. The big question you should ask is this. ‘Why should money (something so many seem to be chasing) which should make life easier become the very thing that can cause unhappiness? There are 4 things I would like you to consider today- Changing times, Culture, Acceptance and Attitude. A) Changing Times: Men, the days when women in the workplace were oddities have since gone. With advancements in technology, many of the more physical jobs have been taken over by machines. This means that there’s no reason women should be sidelined on the grounds of being physically weaker than men. This coupled with the realization of a woman’s right to express her intelligence means the world has made much progress where women in the workplace are concerned. Today there is hardly any industry where you will not find women doing remarkable things. As a result, it is not uncommon for husbands & wives to earn similar salaries or have the wives even bringing more. The truth is that most men like the added household income- who wouldn’t? The only thing is that they just want to earn more than their wives. This clearly becomes an issue of self-esteem and ego. Please understand that you can’t derive your sense of self from money. Many men think being a man is all about bringing in money. It takes a lot more than that to be a real man. Different things make a man. They include the ability to provide, lead, protect, nurture and love. Men you have to bring more to the table than just money to be an exemplary head of your household. What men didn’t understand is that being a homemaker is a very marketable skill! A good homemaker is likely to be very skilled in people and money management, multi-tasking, negotiation skills, etc. You’d think that keeping a woman in the house would incapacitate her in the business terrain but you’d be wrong! Women develop the soft skills required for top-tier management quite early in life! Coupled with formal education, a woman who truly wants to succeed in business is a force to reckon with. Matthew Piccione died of a heart attack minutes after playing pickleball with friends. He was 51. Over the last three years, I got to know Matthew Piccione fairly well. One day back in 2023, he asked coach George Gaine for my number so he could call me just to say thank you for calling out Jack's contributions during Tappan Zee's championship run. Jack was a role player who averaged maybe 5 points a game as a freshman. But he started and never came off the court. "I know he doesn't score a lot of points," Matthew Piccione said. "But you are one of the only people who appreciates what he does for the team." Matthew Piccione kept a very low profile at games and reinforced in his son to be the emodiment of all the things that make Tappan Zee basketball different than any other program in the state. Play unselfish. Defend. Be coachable. Defend. Draw charges. Pass. Sacrifice for your teammates. And, of course, defend some more. Nobody in the history of Tappan Zee basketball since I have been covering has ever played that role better than Jack Piccione. Hell froze over: announcing FormKit for React. Secretly framework-agnostic since inception, today we’re open sourcing the most popular Vue form library…for React. Why is this a big deal? 1. Forms are still hard. We (the creators of FormKit) thought form libraries were no longer necessary, given the trajectory of coding agents. It turns out we were wrong, and we learned this the hard way. Need repeating conditional fields nested 3 layers deep inside a dynamic component, with accessibility, validation, internationalization, and backend error placement? Turns out coding agents aren’t great at that. It’s table stakes for FormKit. 2. Single component. This matters more than you would think, but FormKit doesn’t ship lots of different components each with its own props. Instead, it has a single one: and unified props. This was done to provide a better DX to human engineers. It makes it easy to spot when a given component was part of the form’s data structure vs a presentational component. It turns out this matters even more to coding agents than humans. No matter where your coding agent is, whenever it sees “FormKit” it immediately knows “oh, that’s part of the form’s data”. 3. No plumbing. FormKit doesn’t require any manual data collection, event listening, or state tracking. It does all this for you on a heavily tested, framework agnostic, self-assembling graph. Although the Russians cannot win a conventional war against NATO, the alliance would face significant difficulties in establishing air superiority over Ukraine. From the widespread use of drones to anti-radiation missiles, these efforts have not been able to change this scenario, mainly due to the high number of SAMs on Ukrainian territory. EU aviation attempts to change this dynamic would result in catastrophic and unprecedented losses. NATO in Europe currently has around 1,500-1,700 fourth-generation or higher aircraft, while the Russians have slightly less than half that number, though with much lower production rates. However, Russia still possesses hundreds of air defense systems and a large production of interceptor missiles—capabilities that Europe lacks. In a scenario like Ukraine, stealth aircraft would be largely ineffective. The maturity level of the air defenses is such that they can detect and lock onto drones with signatures much smaller than any stealth aircraft. Another important factor is the significant advancement of radar technology in recent years. As of October last year, Israeli F-35 jets had been locked by Iranian ADs, and the same occurred in Yemen with an American F-35. There is no easy life for aircraft facing today's radar systems.
