When you pull up the tuition for a D3 school, the number hits you like a wall. You show your parents. They shake their heads. Someone closes the laptop. And just like that, a school that could have been the perfect fit gets crossed off a list it never even made it onto. That happens every single recruiting cycle. What most families never get to is the part where the sticker price is not the real price. Where financial aid, merit scholarships, and one of the highest discount rates in the country bring that number down to something that actually makes sense. There are athletes on D3 rosters right now from public schools, from towns that are not affluent, from families who almost did not apply because of that first number they saw online. They kept digging. And it changed everything. Every school in the country is also required by law to have a net price calculator on their website. Plug in your GPA and your family's information and you will get a real ballpark number, not the scary one on the homepage. Mwinzi and Natibu may be two of Ithumba's newest residents, but they're already old hat at all the routines. This is especially apparent during milk feeds, which unfold like a well orchestrated dance. After the boys finish their own bottles – Mwinzi first, Natibu second – they don't rush away. They have cottoned onto the fact that Bondeni, seen at the end, is the herd's 'slow drinker.' Never ones to miss an opportunity for free milk, they loiter behind the Keeper feeding him, just in case he might tire of inching through Bondeni's bottle and feed it to them instead. Natibu, Mwinzi, and Toto (not seen here; he's in the next feeding group) graduated from our Kaluku Nursery to our Ithumba Reintegration Unit in late April. This move marked the next chapter in their journey back to the wild – one that will continue to unfold over the coming years, as the boys gain their independence and learn from older, wiser friends. Iranian Red Crescent first responders — comprised of employed staff and volunteers — rushed to the scene and, equipped with our body cameras, documented their mission. BT interviewed the responders about their experiences pulling civilians from under the rubble. Many of the Red Crescent responders have come to Tehran from smaller towns and stay at modest lodging provided by the city. They are on high alert around the clock. I have been interacting with many married men from the younger generations, especially from our community, and clearly there is a huge problem. It seems Mothers have failed to give their Daughters the necessary "training" on how to treat a real “dry” Kalenjin Man before receiving dowry and handing them over to start their own lives in new unions—In short, our ladies ni "green" kwa mambo ya ndoa. Instead of sitting on the sidelines and complaining like everyone else, I have decided to take the bull by the horns and address this issue once and for all. I am already in “deep” talks with “Chairmen” to onboard experienced soft spoken “Aunties” from successful marriages in our Twitter spaces, waokoe wasichana wetu because we are heading toward a complete disaster. One of the first sensitive yet necessary topics that will be tackled ni: "Weksetab Beacon eng Chomyet nebo kasarta ne lel!"
