He’s instilling fear in lil homie. That’s never a good thing. It’ll turn into resentment as he gets older

Fear creates resentment, eventually destroying the bond between mentor and student.

Most of you mfs in the comments are BITCH MADE complaining about fear. Children need to fear their parents, that’s why they fear getting in trouble with teachers at school, fear doing the wrong things with friends, fear breaking the law not only cause of the police but because they fear their parents at home. The kid isn’t crying, complaining, physically hurt, he’s literally locked in to the training and making the adjustments as his father is being tough on him. None of us liked the things our parents put us through but at a certain age of understanding, it always hits different and we can appreciate them for putting us through whatever it is. One day this kid will remember his fathers training and he will appreciate him a lot more for it, especially if he makes it in life

Way too aggressive

Terrible coaching… The aggressive approach like that will only bring dislike for the sport it is discipline in itself there is no need for the reinforcement in that manor

Without seeing the relationship outside of this it's hard to gauge...I like how he made his love clear at the end. Maybe he detaches from the trainer dad after training and the child can already establish ' Trainer dad ' and ' Dad' .

Separating roles is smart; he clearly distinguishes mentor from father.

He’s gonna make him hate that shit before he learns to love it, meaning all of this will be for nothing.

Those lasting memories of love and consistent affection are the most important gifts a father can leave his son behind.

The cursing I don't agree, but the training, yes every kid needs to learn these fundamentals else they become sheep.

Nah, this “parenting style” is not for me but it’s not my kid.

respect. this type of parenting is rare today thats why nso many kids grow up to be failures and soft.

I like some of this. But other parts is unnecessary to get his point across. You don't have to be that aggressive to instill toughest in a child.

“Don’t let me tell you again”…. Bitch ass father if you ask me… you’re talking to a child… why does he have to endure such harshness from his father for clicks and instagram hugs on the internet at such a young age?

Thats how you gotta do it with them for boxing too. You have to reinforce what the coach teaches them. My son been training boxing since 6. He just turned 9. Gotta keep them motivated to keep wanting to get better with it! My son was 8 here

Regardless of all the negative comments, this man is a good father and the kid will grow up knowing respect. Look what happens to kids with no father around. Bless this man and his family.

My Daddy taught me to box when I was 7 years old, because I tried to go to the gym with him and my brothers. Once he saw I had an interest in it, he got me gloves, and taught me in our basement, because the gym was no place for little girls. He was tough too, but I loved it.🙃

This is not good fathering behavior. You can edify your sons to be warriors without barking in their face, it actually signals a lack of self control and likely to breed resentment in his son. He’s overcompensating

Child is young. A father no matter the age of his child should not speak disrespectfully. Dad might be military. They’re known to be full of testosterone at that age. Can be rough on a young boy. Understand his intentions and yes I agree with teaching self defense but that types of aggression should be left to a coach and the father needs to learn what An Iron Fist In A Velvet Glove means.

This doesn’t build toughness; it may just make a child see others as enemies. Training is fine, but it should be balanced and age appropriate. Growth matters more than showing toughness.

This video hits so close to home. My dad was exactly like this, teaching me how to box when I was tiny. Aggressive but pure love. It really shapes how you grow up. 🫶🏽

I hope this young man is soaring in school. I hope he can read on great level. It's interesting. We always want to introduce our sons and I get to be Athletic, but where is the narrative of introducing him to be a scholar and so academically?

I have been studying Kenpo Karate for 25 years, and there was never a need for my instructors to be disrespectful or violent with me. I understand the father preparing his child for battle, yet there is a better way to teach the child without using violence and ignorance...
