Amazon delivery driver pepper sprayed a homeowner’s dogs as he was delivering packages

He was way too quick to deploy that spray. @amazon needs to fire this guy.

Looking at the body language, the dog actually came to greet him but he clearly mistook it for aggression. Too fast on the trigger but could have thought he may be attacked. Im always two minds about these situations.

When I delivered mail on foot, I often had serious dogs that could do damage run up on me. I never did a thing to any of them and never was bitten. It's about being a man.

He'd get his ass kicked all over that lawn for sure! That was totally unnecessary!

According to Amazon policy, anyone who has dogs on their property, and does not put their dogs inside, then the delivery driver has every right to use his pepper spray to stop any type of bad behavior of the dogs. This is squarely the fault of the homeowner.

I used to deliver for Amazon any kind of situation where there was a dog loose I would simply just mark it as unsafe due to the dog and then head to the next stop. They can wait another day if they want to keep their dogs out loose.

Do not take chances with animals. Did he have to spray them? No. But just seeing two random dogs not fenced in with no owner in sight is purpose enough to error on the side of caution. Both parties are at fault here if fault is to blame

I'm 50/50. You never know which dog is normal so you don't take chances. Sucks for the dog, but the free running dog thing is a problem. Glad it gets to live that life, number 1. But you want to enjoy delivery, secure the dog on delivery day. No need exposing drivers or the dog to an unnecessary interaction.

I worked for the gas company, they gave was animal spray. We were told to use it if a dog was attacking. It was not for prevention. If we are too scared of a dog to go on the property, we were told to suspend the order, and they would try to set up a date the next day or later on

Put your animals away from home delivery people. What if he stole one, you’d be crying.

As someone who's delivered before. Your animals should absolutely be in the house, or locked away from delivery personnel. Myself personally, if I saw these dogs I either deliver it to the mailbox, or cancel the delivery.

A good dog is a good dog no matter what. Just approach you. No barking no aggression. Just curiosity.

I'm honestly with the delivery driver here, as much as I don't want to be. I used to deliver for Amazon and many local companies for years, and 70% of dogs I ran into were NOT friendly, and they would chase me or try to bite me if they weren't properly contained.

you know if you have someone delivering you something mayybe put your dogs inside until the delivery is done, not on the guys side i wouldnt have done that but still not his fault

This is getting ridiculous. One scombag ups driver gets away with attacking a dog now they think they can all do it. Start attacking these delivery scombags, put them in body bags. Then sue the company.

I take no chances of a misunderstanding. My dogs are lovely. But also bark. And then lick you to death. They still stay behind the gate at all times.

Get a gate and lock it. Tell them to leave it at the gate. Protect your doggos
