As an American-Sikh I find any Indian plan to flood Pakistan by also flooding Punjab as immoral and unacceptable. I also find it immoral and unacceptable to flood Pakistan without flooding East Punjab. I oppose any plan to turn West Punjab into a desert. Pakistan has been an American ally for 7 decades. It also the birth place and Joti Jot location of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji. I care about every aspect of my identity — American, Sikh, Punjabi and Indian — in that order. At the end of the day — I care about my people. Anyone tells who tells you otherwise is either lying to you or lying to themselves — or both. Narendra Modi may hate Pakistan — I don’t — and Indians shouldn’t either. If India wants to be an American ally it must start behaving like one. The days of being “non-aligned” but being close to the Soviet Union are over. Narendra Modi shouldn’t imitate Indira Gandhi. The has changed — so should India. It’s in both American and Indian interests to become actual allies. P.S. Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan but it was never found by American intelligence that Pakistan harbored Bin Laden. Stop spreading disinformation.
