Australian 2nd Commando Regiment – Combat Operations in Afghanistan Rare and intense footage from the 2nd Commando Regiment (part of the Special Operations Task Group) during their deployments to Afghanistan. From disruption operations in Helmand during Operation Eagle’s Summit, to major clearances in Gizab and Shah Wali Kot, the “Diggers” of 2 CDO played a significant role in some of the toughest fighting of the war. The Regiment paid a heavy price, losing 12 operators killed in action.
