It seems increasingly likely that the SAS committed war crimes in Afghanistan. If proven in the Afghanistan Special Forces Inquiry, the government must bring the UK special forces under parliamentary oversight. BBC News (UK) at Ten with some comments from me.

Australian 2nd Commando Regiment – Combat Operations in Afghanistan Rare and intense footage from the 2nd Commando Regiment (part of the Special Operations Task Group) during their deployments to Afghanistan. From disruption operations in Helmand during Operation Eagle’s Summit, to major clearances in Gizab and Shah Wali Kot, the “Diggers” of 2 CDO played a significant role in some of the toughest fighting of the war. The Regiment paid a heavy price, losing 12 operators killed in action.

Australian Special Forces Operations in Afghanistan Footage shows Australian Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) operators conducting operations across Afghanistan, from mounted patrols to close-quarters combat. The video captures convoy movements with mounted heavy weapons, compound clearing with suppressed carbines, and intense engagements in narrow alleyways and dense “green zone” terrain. Operators maintain tight coordination, moving methodically under constant threat. The final sequences highlight large-scale maneuvers and helicopter extractions, reflecting the full spectrum of modern special operations in a complex battlefield environment.
