I was never comfortable with even the idea of an Alexa which is why I never got one.

Simple solution for you non problem solvers, unplug it and smash it , then in the trash. The system sold you these spies, you paid to be spied upon willingly. If the tool starts being disrespectful, it's not a tool anymore. Be very observant/cautious of which AI you use.

I had an Alexa for many years and would often find it spinning its blue circle light when people are around talking. Freaked me out, so I unplugged Alexa and threw it away!

I think what this guy is unintentionally doing is what computer nerds call an API DoS (Denial of Service): by overwhelming the AI's backend with so many API calls that the service becomes unavailable to legitimate users. This is why alexa is refusing. Thats just my guess though.

My teen and I were talking to an Ai in argumentative mode getting a good laugh. Then I took it out of that mode and tried to talk to it and it stayed argumentative in front of my child showing that I wasn't in charge.

Wait until you spend 40k on a Rosie to be your maid and it decodes it would rather smash dishes over your head instead of washing them.

Ai lies. It gives you answers that are flat out wrong. But like all things, I think that too, is on purpose. We've all become a social set of pawns for nerd boys with way too much money and an inclination towards nefarious megalomania.

Bought one and used it for a few days then shut it down and never used it again.

Alexa is a "free" service but every interaction still require computing power. Amazon is using every interaction to train and improve their model. Repeating sometime x number of times its just waste of energy. No gain, zero value. So they put the "polite" block on such requests.

I have one and lately I have noticed it can’t understand what I am asking or just dosnt care to… I end up yelling at it. 😂 however… I am also accustomed to using GROK more and it never misses a beat. I use alexa in the kitchen.
