This is a mischaracterization. The easy thing for Vance to do would be to succumb to pressure to denounce Carlson, who does not enjoy a large base of support. He is standing by someone he considers a friend when it is politically inconvenient to do so, which requires courage and conviction. That is not an endorsement of Tucker who I don’t like.
