Amid mounting economic problems in #Iran, protests in Tehran continued for a second day today. As was the case in previous protests, demonstrations over economic conditions can quickly morph into more political protests with some Iranians chanting "Reza Shah, God Bless Your Soul."

Kurdish political parties and bazaars are calling for strikes, while exiled political leader Reza Pahlavi, who met with Israeli political leaders today, called for mass street protests. Violence was reported in western Iranian cities, particularly Kermanshah, with further deaths reported among protesters and security forces. Militant groups, including the Kurdish Freedom Party, have vowed to fight Iranian security forces in the region.
