In India, the world’s largest democracy, senior Hindu leaders from Narendra Modi’s ruling #Hindu nationalist party are openly calling for the social and economic boycott of minority Muslims. Saumitra Khan, a prominent BJP leader in West Bengal and a sitting MP, is advising Hindus not to rent out apartments to Muslims or sell them lands or houses. Another BJP leader, former MP Arjun Singh, is asking Hindus to socially and economically boycott Muslims. He is advising Hindus to adopt the means to push minority Muslims to the bottom of society. He tells Hindus not to buy anything from Muslim-owned shops, not to use vehicles run by Muslims, and not to give Muslims any work or engage in any business transaction with them. In the BJP, these leaders win handsome rewards like election tickets or are given other plum party positions. The BJP-led Indian government and the Indian mainstream media often claim that minority Hindus in #Bangladesh are being persecuted. But can anyone present a single instance where a senior Muslim political or religious leader in Bangladesh has issued openly aggressive calls against minority Hindus, the way the BJP leaders in India often call for the social and economic boycott of minority Muslims? Can anyone show evidence of a senior Muslim leader in Bangladesh asking Muslims not to rent out houses to Bangladeshi Hindus, not to sell them land or a flat to them, or to boycott them socially and economically? What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over, doesn’t fight, and takes everything sitting down. And what they’re mad at right now is that we are here in a new day. And we have been asking the Democratic Party to stand up and fight, and now they did—and now the Republican Party doesn’t like the fact that they are fighting against someone who actually will stand up for the American people. So if Republicans decide that they would like to revisit a ban on partisan gerrymandering, I welcome them. We have the bill right here to end this all today. But they don’t want to, because they like pursuing and continuing to enact an unfair electoral landscape. And so we have an obligation to defend ourselves.

So the The Church of England Synod has failed to decide whether or not to pass an antisemitic motion: they ran out of time tonight and they will have to decide whether to debate it again at their next synod. Some good debate, many church figures recognising the motion as it stands is pure antisemitism but you’ll see in the first clip that some Bishops - as well as other members of the clergy - are fine with that. The second clip is from the excellent Dr Ian Paul who has also written a brilliant blog on the Archbishop of Canterbury’s recent trip to Israel where she appears to have met with some questionable people.

Israeli sportspeople are not welcome at the Paris Olympic Games.” He also called for protestors to “mobilize” against it. Israeli athletes are facing abuse in every corner — from anonymous death threats to threats from a government official. French Jewish groups, as well as other left-wing politicians, have condemned Portes, and say he is putting a target on Israeli athletes’ backs. But the damage of a government leader publicly calling to ban Israelis from the Olympics is not so easily reversed. And French Jews, who are already experiencing unprecedented hatred, will be left to deal with the antisemitic fallout.

As always every MP is jumping on the bandwagon, there was no threat to muslims at the event. A group of British people had heard about the event and the fact that its banned in several countries. Countries that have taken action against Tablighi Jamaat include: * Russia - banned as an extremist organization since 2009. * Saudi Arabia - in 2021, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs instructed mosques to warn against the movement, describing it as a danger to society and linking it to extremism. * Kazakhstan - designated the group as extremist and banned it. Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran have also imposed bans or severe restrictions. So they decided to fly a drone over to see what was going on.... THAT'S ALL. Armed Police did attend but they were looking for a group that were involved in a shooting last week in Bradford. The main suspect, Luqman Khan (a muslim) is still on the run however several others were arrested for assisting an offender. Strange how MPs are claiming the threat was to muslims when in reality the threat is to the public because there is still a muslim man that shot someone last week on the run.... 🤬🤬

Muslim lives have become painfully cheap in today’s India. They are humiliated for their identity, attacked in broad daylight, and their homes, masjids, and madrasas are demolished as if their existence carries no value. And yet, the silence around this suffering is deafening. Yesterday, when I visited Palla village and met the grieving family of Aamir—who was chased and shot dead by members of Bajrang Dal—the weight of their pain was unbearable. They are humiliated for their identity, attacked in broad daylight, and their homes, masjids, and madrasas are demolished as if their existence carries no value. And yet, the silence around this suffering is deafening. Yesterday, when I visited Palla village and met the grieving family of Aamir—who was chased and shot dead by members of Bajrang Dal—the weight of their pain was unbearable. In this video, he urges villagers to distance themselves from their Muslim neighbours. By labeling the entire community as “jihadis,” he is effectively identifying all Muslims as Islamic militants. He is also heard making remarks in a threatening tone, suggesting that Muslims would have to convert to Hinduism. In several BJP-ruled states in India, militant Hindu groups have advised Hindus to display saffron flags atop their homes to mark them as Hindu households. During the outbreaks of anti-Muslim violence, armed rioters—often arriving from outside the area—can use these flags to identify Hindu homes and avoid targeting them. Against this backdrop, can Suvendu’s advice to put up saffron flags not be interpreted as a subtle signal of potential anti-Muslim violence in the area? State elections in West Bengal are scheduled to take place in the next two to three months. He has supported them (terrorists) by citing Al Falah University... Investigative agencies are doing their work... The blast at the Red Fort was a conspiracy to spoil the atmosphere of the country. Three prominent people from the Al Falah University have been arrested... This is a matter of national security. The Maulana should have issued a statement against terrorism. His Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind should have protested against terrorism... I urge him to hold a press conference again to address his statement and convey the true message to the public... Since the Modi govt came to power, the highest number of Muslims have joined the civil service... Muslims have benefited the most from PM Modi's schemes, but he hasn't praised them.
