A Florida homeowner came home to find a brand-new American flag waiting in his driveway after a neighbor noticed his old one had become faded and quietly replaced it. After sharing the story online, he tracked down the anonymous neighbor, and the two finally met. The homeowner said the act was a powerful reminder of kindness, community, and respect for the American flag. The heartwarming exchange comes as communities across the country prepare to celebrate America's 250th anniversary next year.

This destroyed section of the building was the second apartment I lived in during my time in Bakhmut. My bedroom and window would be right where the rubble meets the still-standing wall. It was owned by my friends who left behind nearly everything when they fled, and it was home for a while back in 2011-12 for me. As this recent video filmed by Russian occupiers shows, there's little left of Peace Street.

Happy Independence Day! Today marks the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. A small group of colonists, guided by conviction and faith in God, chose freedom over servitude and risked everything for it. Though uncertain of success, they believed freedom was worth the risk. Their courage established the greatest Republic in history. Happy 250th Independence Day. God bless the United States of America. Let’s get after another 250 years of Freedom! 💪🏼🔥🍀🙏🏼🇺🇸

One of the most uplifting rock songs of the early 70s came from a band formed after The Zombies broke up. But did you know "Hold Your Head Up" was built around themes of confidence, perseverance, and resilience? "Hold Your Head Up" was recorded by Argent, led by Rod Argent, the same musician behind "She’s Not There," "Tell Her No," and "Time of the Season." Released in 1971, it became Argent’s biggest hit and turned into an anthem about standing tall and refusing to let the world drag you down. Skip or listen to this one?

In 2010, a Paris apartment was discovered that had been left untouched and abandoned for 70 years. The apartment once belonged to Marthe de Florian, a well-known Parisian courtesan of the 1890s. During the Nazi occupation of Paris, her granddaughter fled the city and never returned, yet she continued paying rent on the apartment each month until her death in 2010 at the age of 91. When the apartment was finally opened, one of the executors described it as “like stepping into Sleeping Beauty’s apartment.” Inside, furniture, paintings, and personal belongings were found exactly as they had been left, untouched for seven decades. On a bedroom wall hung an unsigned portrait, which was later identified as a painting of Marthe de Florian herself by the renowned artist Giovanni Boldini. Though she had been largely forgotten by history for 70 years, the apartment preserved her life in remarkable detail, as if nothing had ever been lost.

This child lost his sight from birth as a result of inhaling internationally banned phosphorus, which was used by the Israeli occupation army. Despite this, he lives in harsh humanitarian conditions inside a tent that lacks the most basic necessities of life, and he suffers from extreme heat every day. Amid all this suffering, the child had a very simple dream: to ride in a car and go for a drive. Today, we were able to fulfill one of his small dreams, and we saw joy filling his face and heart. Sometimes the simplest wishes are the most beautiful, and the simplest moments have the greatest impact on children’s lives.

LeBron, with the American flag held high, stood at the bow of the ship, his gaze steely and determined. Behind him, an army of American Olympians, unified in purpose and spirit, readied themselves for the voyage. The waves crashed against the hull, but their resolve was unyielding. As they sailed across the seas, LeBron's presence was a powerful symbol of their mission: to assert their dominance on the world stage and remind everyone of their unparalleled prowess. The stars and stripes fluttered in the wind, a beacon of their unwavering commitment and indomitable spirit. As the ship surged forward, LeBron raised the flag higher, his voice booming with electrifying intensity: “This is OUR time. Let the world witness our reign!” 🇺🇸

14 months ago, we were reporting the last time from #Pokrovsk. A city, already reduced from 65,000 to 10,000 inhabitants back then. While Russian bombs were falling outside, beginning to destroy Pokrovsk, I had some of the best Georgian food ever in one of the last working restaurants. For me, it was an impressive display of perseverance, of incredible calm, and of a belief in a better future — a belief many Ukrainians still shared back then. “Russia hasn’t reached the city yet. As long as we can, we will stay,” the restaurant owner told us at the time. But Russia’s sheer lust for destruction did not spare even the courageous owners of this restaurant. He and his wife, too, are now refugees. Today, the city is utterly destroyed, emptied of its people, and part of Putin’s evil empire — an empire that spreads westward like a lethal cancer. The Russian tricolour rising amid the ruins stands as a symbol of a regime, and a nation, that stops at nothing in its attempt to rebuild a long-lost empire on blood and ashes. And that flag stands, once again, for the West’s failure to adequately support Ukrainians in their fight for freedom and independence.

Q: Was there a particularly memorable moment working with the members on this album? Tyler Spry: There’s a video that’s gone around on the Internet when I was writing with V, James Essien and Sean Foreman. That video is not the making of any of the songs that made the album, but it was one of the most fun days I had in the studio with the guys. We were just jumping up and down, singing the songs. I think that it was one of the freest days we had in the studio, creatively. So I do hope that song gets to see the light of day.

🚨 Francisco conceicao on Ronaldo not passing the ball to him on Portugal 2-1 win over chile: 🗣️ “I felt I was in a much better position to take the shot and score but Ronaldo didn’t pass the ball Sometimes in football moments like that are what decided games We had opportunities in transition where the right decision could have changed everything, but it didn’t happen in that moment. We ended up going 1 man down and having to fight to take something out of the game but at the World Cup we need to work as a team to achieve our goal At this level, small details matter a lot. One pass, one decision, one second can completely change the direction of a match. We have the quality in this team, but we need more understanding in those situations, especially in the final third. If we want to go far in the World Cup, we cannot rely on individual moments we must move as one unit and make the best choice for the team every time.” {talkSPORT }

This is Erika walking out onstage the first night of AmFest. As you can see and hear, she does NOT walk out to audio of Charlie saying “I appoint my wife if—God forbid—something happens to me. She’d do a great job.” Walking out to something is it playing as you walk out. Pretty basic stuff. This audio of Charlie was used as part of a 250th America celebration video that was at least five minutes long and played at the start of each of the four days. The first speaker of the day walked out after the video stopped. Erika was the first speaker of day one, and she walked out after the video stopped. This is all a moot point because the main point of contention isn’t whether Erika walked out to it; it’s whether the audio is fake. Candace has no positive proof the audio is fake. Her only “evidence” is she doesn’t have the video. That’s not evidence it doesn’t exist.

Do you know why I love Barcelona? Because only in Barcelona can you stumble into all of this in one single Saturday. We started at Palau de la Música Catalana for Madama Butterfly. It's the only concert hall in Europe lit completely by daylight, through a stained glass dome built in 1908. After we walked outside, we noticed a big gathering of people, so we headed to see what was going on. A helicopter was circling the Cathedral square, dropping thousands of small poems out of the sky. Half written by Catalan poets, half by Chilean ones. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I researched it after, and it's a one-time art project called "Bombardeig de Poemes," marking 50 years since the end of the Franco dictatorship. Then, a few streets over, we found the Kiss mural. From far away, it's two people kissing. Up close, it's 4,000 individual photo tiles, each one sent in by a local back in 2014. Had no idea what it was, but apparently it's one of the most photographed spots in the city. Finally, ended the night at the Magic Fountain in Montjuïc. Built in 1929, it's free every night it runs. None of this was planned. We didn't look any of it up beforehand, we just walked into it. That's also the annoying part, you can't plan a day like this. This is why I'll never get tired of this city.

Here we go — banging up another flag at work 🇦🇺 Nothing feels better than this, honestly. Every time I see the flag, I feel that energy — a reminder of how great our nation is. It makes me optimistic about the future for my children and the country they’re growing up in. Everywhere I go, I’m seeing more and more flags on homes. People message me asking, “Was it you? Was it the Sons putting flags up all around the city — even around the country?” The truth is, it’s not just us. There are people everywhere banging up flags — on gum trees, power poles, bridges. In the suburbs, families are proudly hanging the flag on their homes. And in workplaces too — I’m seeing more businesses flying the Aussie flag. If there’s no flag at your work, take one in. Ask the boss. Hang it up. Bring that energy into your workplace and your community wherever you can. And if you want to be part of a men’s group — a bunch of mates who are proud of the flag — that’s what we do. We go for a proper feed, we have a yarn, and we bang up Aussie flags 🇦🇺 If you love this nation and you’re looking for good blokes to stand alongside, you’re welcome. Get amongst it. Join our new bloke chat. God bless Australia 🇦🇺

The man in this video is Sreekantan Nair, the owner of the Malayalam channel '24 news'. During a news segment, he was asked by one of the Muslim viewers not to drink tea during Roza time. It must be mentioned that Nair always has a teacup in his hand during the course of his shows. But after being asked by a Muslim viewer to refrain from such an act during Ramzan, Nair readily accepted it. Some Hindus from Kerala refuse to give up on beef to show 'secularism' in public, but can avoid consuming tea during roza time based on one stray comment by a Muslim viewer. Isn't this interesting?

I had the honour of standing in for the parents of ASP F.C. Egbunike yesterday at the Passing Out Parade and Presidential Commissioning Ceremony of Regular Course 7. In the absence of her father and mother, I proudly represented the family and decorated her with her new rank, as conferred by the President and Commander-in-Chief. It was a privilege to play the role of her parents on this remarkable day.
