RIP Sam Neill (1947-2026) I Just heard the news of Sam Neill's passing. He was an exceptionally gifted & versatile actor who starred in many great movies. His acting in "Possession" (1981) alongside Isabelle Adjani will always remain one of the greatest horror performances of all time. I can't think of any other actor who could have pulled off this mad movie convincingly; especially with Żuławski at the helm. "Possession" was also his personal favourite among his works.

Iltutmish destroyed the historic Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and many other temples. Many Hindu women were kidnapped and kept in his harem. None of this was shown in this movie. In one of the scene from the movie, Iltutmish punished his son Firuz Ruknuddin in full public view after many women complained that he molested them. When his son lost his consciousness after getting some lashes, Iltutmish took his son's place and completed the punishment. Iltutmish was shown as a lenient, benevolent, impartial and a man of justice. It was so easy to hide facts back then.

He explains: "As great as Christopher Walken is in this movie. To me, it's Larry Fishburne's movie - it was the rock that becomes a diamond aspect of the movie. It's why I could defend this movie against all comers, because to me, Fish's performance in this movie was comparable to a young Brando.
