As we post this update, Nina’s keeper is feeding her and she is being comforted by him. She is lying in a comfortable resting position and is snacking on cucumbers. Nina, who has gone through inexpressible horrors all her life, has been amazingly forgiving to humans, and has developed a strong emotional bond with her keeper in a very short time. Our team is at her side day and night to assist whenever she needs them. Our team understands the gravity of the situation and is doing the best to provide Nina with the best medical care. We are overwhelmed with the love and support pouring in from all over the world for Nina. Thank you again for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.

You might know how vital milk is to an orphan's recovery, so we tried everything: a bottle, a bucket, different formulas. But she was resolute. In the end, we finally discovered a solution: a Keeper would pour some milk into the tip of her trunk. Serenget would signal to the Keeper when it was full to the brim, then tilt the milk into her mouth. With this sip-by-sip approach, she could eventually drink two full bottles.
