"We must ensure that Afghanistan does not become a breeding ground for terrorists that threatens not only its neighbours, but the region and beyond," Pakistan's Permanent Ambassador to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said Expanding on the terror threat posed by groups from Afghanistan, Ambassador Iftikhar said that terrorism emanating from Afghanistan - a serious threat to the neighbouring countries, particularly Pakistan. The presence of the Afghan Taliban in Bajaur province, Pakistan to help the TTP against the Pakistan state, is a blatant act of aggression against Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The people of Afghanistan categorically reject aggression toward any of our neighbors. Yet, this terrorist regime, hiding under the name of Afghanistan, exploits Afghan soil to wage war against neighboring states, supports anti-neighboring elements and even threatens global stability.
