An exceptionally well handled abnormal by this pilot with a safe outcome. The shock and startle of it was short and then followed by immediate action to slow and recover the aircraft. Cannot have been comfortable though. I can now understand why some would wear a helmet for this... show more

Nice piloting, indeed. Incidentally, this is why I wear aviators goggles when I fly commercial. Might get assigned a Boeing and a door or window blows out. I hate having wind and debris in my eyes.

Absolutely. Had a mallard come through the windscreen of 152 I was flying. Scared the crap out of me. But recovered and able to land. Opened the door and a window to help the air flow out.

@TheRickWilson I would want her to be my pilot every time 👍. I’ve had two complete engine outs in my flying career and while neither was fun, I walked away unharmed both times. I can’t even imagine the forces of the wind, impaired sight and messed up aerodynamics she had to deal with 😳👏👏!

Talking to an pilot friend about how I've noticed a lot of A350s in particular "float" prior to landing. He said that the A350 wing is so well-designed and efficient the aircraft "just wants to keep flying" and can lead to floating when landing. Kind of makes sense I guess 🤷

I have just been a call with the workers of Lindsey Oil Refinery. I am disgusted at these premature job losses, when there are still deals on the table to save the Refinery and jobs. It was inhumane how this was handled by the government and receivership company FTI. Workers were led into two separate rooms, after a twelve hour shift, told of job losses and then sent home. I will do all I can to support the workers and am meeting some next week.

I took it a step further and used Moon VR Player | Your Private Cinema to watch the trailer in Apple Vision Pro on a giant screen with Quality Boost and Realtime 3D. Yea, I used AI to take an AI generated thing and make it sharper and fully 3D. I kind of hate how much I loved it. Would I watch some of my favorite movies of all time remade this way? Yes I would. Turns out AI is getting to the point where it can do a very good job of taking the spirit of a live action scene and translating it to a compelling animation (at least better than the 1978 rotoscoped version of Lord of the Rings). And it's only going to get better. I absolutely believe this kind of training should be done with consent and licensing fees. Miyazaki hates AI and Lord of the Rings, so this kind of seems like a slap in the face to him. Ugh.
