A senior AirForce officer based at Magama Tongogara Airbase in Gweru, Stafford Ncube and Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services Officer Commanding Midlands, Somemore Gate allegedly took a tractor and ploughed down 2023 opposition Parliamentary candidate for Chirumhanzi South Constituency, Patrick Cheza's 3-week-old maize crop in a wrangle over a farm in Mvuma that the latter was allocated by the Ministry of Lands.The incident happened on Saturday and the total cost of the destroyed 2-hectares is US$2K. The two senior security officers drove to Cheza's farm using unmarked new Ford Rangers which Government is splashing on senior civil servants, musicians and Zanu PF officials. The matter was reported at Mvuma Police Station under RRB 5909845. The officers' action is in contempt of a court case of the same matter which is before a judge at the High Court in Masvingo. PGHQ has ordered an immediate stop to activities of Reprographic Rights Organisation, an organisation that knocked at the doors of every business involved in content production demanding US$300 for what it calls copyright licence fees. Business persons said they are being swindled, they complained that the levy demanded is illegitimate, has never been explained to the public, RROZ agents harassed and threatened them and that the use of cops on levy collection missions is unconventional. In the video, an RROZ fails to explain for who they were collecting the money and to what use it would be put. PGHQ said if RROZ wants to continue with its operations it should go through parent ministries! . See full story on.... The argument for conservation of wetlands and green belts in order preserve waterbodies in the country and in particular Lake Chivero has been reiterated over the years but ignored. The 'war' is now lost as the Zanu PF Government gave an open cheque for party-connected land barons to willy-nilly sell residential and commercial stands around Harare. A brazen example but just a drop is Longchen Plaza (run by people connected to top Gov officials) built in the world famous Monavile Wetland running adjacent to the National Sports Stadium. Lake Chivero has become a big headache for Harare Municipality as a source of water... Zimbabwe is a signatory to the Ramsar Convention to conserve wetlands but it violates the law with such impunity? Hearing on Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 ended prematurely at Kwekwe Theatre in Kwekwe after Melody Chingarande, the only person who opposed the Bill was booed and kicked out of the venue. Sympathisers escorted Chingarande from the venue to Kwekwe Central Police Station as she faced threats from hooligans. The hall was packed with Zanu PF supporters bussed from outside the city.
