I would let the guy that saved my life drive the older lady to her destination. I would stay and wait for the bus with the pretty lady.

Clever! (But saying that, you are asking the lad who saved your life to do you yet *another* favour—namely to perform an extended trip to salve your own conscious while you chat up the woman he was probably trying to get with.)

The old friend would refuse to drive the old lady to the hospital, because he also wanted the girl.
