@Tico_Romao There is also an interview with Klimov discussing his war time experiences which weren't included in Come and See. Somewhere on the net. Well worth locating.

Elem Klimov the director of Come and See (1985), said that the movie was so intense that “ambulances were sometimes called” to take away “particularly impressionable viewers.” After one screening, an elderly man stood up and identified himself as “a former soldier and officer of the Wehrmacht.” The officer confirmed the film's events were accurate and stated: "I will testify: everything that is told in this film is the truth. And the most frightening and shameful thing for me is that this film will be seen by my children and grandchildren".
