After recently completing sea trials, two Turkish built OPV-76 class offshore patrol vessels from DEARSAN Shipyards are set to join the Nigerian Navy fleet, boosting maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea. The procurement process began in August 2021 following approval former President Muhammadu Buhari. Construction commenced with a keel laying ceremony on September 16, 2022. Talks of India trying to separate Sindh from Pakistan have resurfaced, creating renewed concern in the region. Following a recent missile test, India’s Defense Minister claimed that Sindh was once part of India and suggested it could become part of India again in the future, adding that borders keep changing. Reports indicate that after failures in the air, India is now considering provocations via the sea, assuming it could pressure Pakistan on the maritime front. However, the Pakistan Navy sent a strong message that its silence should not be mistaken for weakness by successfully testing an indigenously developed anti-ship ballistic missile, making it clear that Pakistan’s maritime security is firmly in capable hands. This test has forced Indian military planners to realize that neither land, air, nor sea is an easy route, and the success of this operation was publicly congratulated by the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. It is now clear that Sindh remains an inseparable part of Pakistan and that any provocation will be met with a strong response on all fronts.

WATCH: Türkiye conducted live-fire demonstrations of three domestically developed naval weapons systems during the Sea Wolf-II/2026 exercise in the Antalya Gulf. It was the first time eight guided missiles and a torpedo were fired simultaneously in a single Turkish naval exercise segment, all against real decommissioned surface targets. The ATMACA anti-ship missile was fired from TCG Burgazada, an Ada-class corvette, striking a surface target 102 kilometers away. The target was destroyed. The sea-skimming missile uses indigenous INS/GPS guidance with a terminal seeker, and the demonstration validated its extended-range anti-surface capability in an Eastern Mediterranean setting. The AKYA heavyweight torpedo was fired from TCG Sakarya, a Preveze-class submarine, at a target 10 kilometers away. The torpedo split the target ship in half. It was the first live operational demonstration of Türkiye's indigenous heavyweight torpedo in a major fleet exercise. The HİSAR-D RF naval air defense missile was launched vertically from a MIDLAS system against an air target approaching at 555 km/h. The intercept was successful.
