Among men who use the dating app Hinge, 10 percent of male users receive 60 percent of the "likes." I just watched a video by Charleston White… and for once, he said something that hits every man in his bones. On paper this is a functional scene. Bill goes to a hotel, asks about Nick Nightingale, learns two men took him away. Pure exposition. Alan Cumming turns it into something much weirder. The clerk is nervous and flirtatious and helpful and evasive, somehow all at once. He seems thrilled to be talking to Bill, and completely aware that what he's describing is dangerous. It's funny and it's threatening and it never picks one. Which is Eyes Wide Shut in miniature. Almost every encounter in this film has that double quality. People are polite but something's off. They smile a beat too long. They hand over information and it still feels like a performance. Listen to what he actually says. Nick came back with two big guys, bruised, scared. He tried to slip the clerk an envelope. They took it, and told him any mail or messages for Mr. Nightingale would be collected by someone properly authorized to do so. Then they put him in a car. That's a threat delivered as paperwork. And the clerk relays it like gossip. He's not a major character. He shows up, tells Bill what happened, disappears. But he rewires the whole film in five minutes. Bill stops following clues and starts moving through a world where everyone knows more than he does, and every answer makes the mystery less rational instead of more. Cumming's performance is almost too big, and that's why it works. In a normal thriller this clerk would just be scared. Here he's delighted, seductive, impossible to read. Then Bill thanks him for his help and the clerk says "Anytime, Bill." Not Doctor. Not sir. Bill. Kubrick shot that scene for a week. Seven days for five minutes. Bill walks in looking for information. He walks out knowing the whole city is laughing at him.

🐾❤️It's Moon's final day with us. Tonight he goes back to the Service Dog program where he'll have many other adventures. Today he's working on staying in place while the human leaves him and goes and opens the door. This will help him learn to be calm and not try to go exploring when a door opens, and that when he's in place, he can move around or change positions, but can't leave the mat. He makes mistakes because he's learning, but with a few more repetitions, he'll understand. We didn't teach him a whole bunch of new skills while he was here, but what we've taught him is his marker sounds (clicks, yes and good) and his release word so he understands when he's done the thing he was supposed to, when he should keep doing it, and when he's free to go. This is the foundation that will make learning other skills easy. We've also helped him learn to settle calmly when asked and play when appropriate, and we've introduced him to lots of sites and sounds. He's a delightful pup. We're taking a short break from puppies to get stuff caught up around the house, get some appointments done and other human business. But I'm sure we'll have more puppy chaos in the near future. Some were scammers from the other side of the globe using AI to disguise themselves, others were completely autonomous ai agents. It made me realize something. The old internet is DEAD. Jordan Peterson on why the most boring parts of your day are actually the most important: 1. The reason to improve yourself is not some casual self-help aspiration. It is to stop suffering more stupidly than you have to. And to stop making the people around you suffer more stupidly than they have to. The stack of papers that has been bugging you. The cables behind the monitor you have ignored for six months. the dust. fix those things. Fix a hundred things like that and your life will look completely different. 3. Fix the things you repeat every day first. People treat their daily routines as trivial. getting up, brushing teeth, breakfast, the same small habits. Peterson says those routines probably constitute fifty percent of your life. The things you do every day are the most important things you do. The arithmetic is obvious once you do it. Neglecting them because they feel mundane is exactly backwards. 4. Do not try to fix things outside your domain of competence. If you are walking down the street and see a man who is alcoholic, schizophrenic, and has been homeless for ten years, that is a problem. But mucking around in it will not help him and will very likely hurt you. You have to have humility. You do not walk up to a broken helicopter and start tinkering. Find what you can actually fix and fix that. 5. As soon as you give your mind a genuine aim, it reconfigures the world around that aim. This is not metaphor. It is how perception works. The famous gorilla experiment: people watching basketball players pass a ball, miss a gorilla walking through the middle of the frame because they were told to count passes. You see what you aim at. The world manifests itself differently depending on what you are looking for. If the world is manifesting itself negatively the first question to ask is whether you are aiming at the right thing.

Adeboye. • Whether the devil likes it or not, you'll see the new year. • According to Luke 2:10-11, the day Jesus was born, an angel came and told the people, "fear not". • I want you to tell the fellow next to you, “fear not, all will be well”. • When we talk about Jesus Christ, you'll discover that there's no human being like Him. • All over the world for more than 2000 years, wherever they are celebrating His birthday, the whole world celebrates. You can't find any other man like that. • Even when 2 nations are fighting and they are at war, there's this unwritten law that says when it is Christmas, every enemy will stop fighting. • I have good news for somebody today, all the wars in your life will end today. • The good news is the great physician was born today and the good news is if you're sick, the One who is going to heal you has visited you today. • The good news is the One who was born, that we are celebrating His birth and His name is the truth. He said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. • It is written, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. • How is that good news? • It means, if anybody is here today and you're under bondage and there are forces of darkness working against you wherever from your mother, father, husband’s house or place of work. Anyone here today in any form of bondage, your day of freedom has come because the Bible says, “you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free” and the Bible says, “whosoever the Son shall set free shall be free indeed”. • The good news is that the One who was born is the one who is called the fruitful vine. • What's the good news? • The good news is that the one who was poor will not be poor again. • Why? Because the One who was born says silver is mine and gold is mine. • The Bible says my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. • Those of you who are here today and are finding it difficult to survive, because of the One called Jesus, very soon you'll have more than sufficient. • Now, the good news is If there's anyone who has lost hope, somebody they say this one cannot become anything; this one cannot succeed; this one can never reach the top; this one will always be a beggar. • Why? Because it is written, Christ in you, the hope of glory and the meaning of glory is no shame. • The good news is that all will be well with you but there's one important point. • It is one thing to bring good news to you. It's another thing for the fellow to receive the good news. + God has brought me all the way from Lagos at a time where I should be resting, at a time as an 82 year old man, I should be relaxing but God said you must go to Okitipupa because there's someone there who must hear the good news that all will be well. • But I can bring the good news and you may ask “who asks you to come?” I can bring good news and you can say I don't want to receive it. • Who sent for you? God has brought you good news but He won't force you to accept it He said in His Word, even when I come to your door and I knock, it's only if you open the door that I'll come in. • If you don't open the door, I'll go away. Jesus has come to you know, it's up to you to receive Him and decide to surrender your life to Him, open the door of your life and say come in, come and take over my life. I want the good news. I'll do Your will from now on. I don't want to have anything to do with the devil anymore. Salvation Call • If you receive Him, for the rest of your life it will be good news. So if you're here, and you know that you've not really surrendered your life to Jesus, come and do so now.
