There’s nothing creative about todays game. It’s all just threes or layups. Once kd bron and them boys retire I think the nba losses a massive amount of viewership. I used to watch all games even when it wasn’t my team playing but now nope

Foli had a 5.7 career war. The baseball nerds consider him not a good player. WAR is a fake stat that does not factor in grit, small ball and leadership skills.

I asked Mikal about his approach given analytics not favoring the mid-range shot in today's NBA: “I know the analytics with the threes and layups, but we’re basketball players at the same time, we work on our games. Sometimes you can’t get to the rim, you just can’t. There’s a lot of other space on the floor that you can get to. And if you work on it enough and you’re confident enough, those can be your layups.”

Brice Butler: When you watch today's game, do you see it as evolution, or do you think basketball has lost its art? Ray Allen: When I came into the league, basketball was beautiful. Ray Allen: Teams ran motion offenses, set hard screens, made four or five passes, cut backdoor, it was like watching a machine work. Ray Allen: It was never about one great player.
