Analyzing the final play. Bad playcall plain and simple, Dak had no choice but to throw it away because of the fact there was no other read to be made and 77 gave up ground too fast. I just cannot see why he is blamed for this over Schotty

Dude if he throws to the front corner of the endzone at the same time he throws it away, it’s a TD. What a joke. QBs make throws before the WR is open all the time.

HE WAS TOLD TO THROW IT AWAY THE SECOND THE READ IS NOT THERE. It was a terrible play call and stupid coaching Pickens is engaged immediately which ends the play, they said in the post game that coverage was anticipating the corner not doing that. 77 gets pushed back, Dak turns his hips and tosses it immediately.

@TheZEagle25 made that throw but that 1 play didn't lose them the game. But go ahead blame Dak the guy who got there in the first place and then atleast tied it. Crazy fan base looking to hate on prob the best player on the f'ing team.

@DFWAlex2289 1 play did in fact lose them the game lol

First off… Schottenheimer took blame because as the coach- he’s supposed to. Second… there’s no world in which an NFL QB with 11 years exp is throwing the ball away that quick in that situation- especially when he had a pocket to step into (77 was not beat as bad as you say)

That’s the problem. The game is on the line and you called a play with one answer. Every play should have 2-3 answers
100% agree. Even if Pickens catches it he is likely short as his back is the endzone and the defenders on his back. You RT got smoked and like you said, awful play design. The series was cooked when they didn't run on 1st from the 2. The end of this game falls on coaching

Why blame the 60 million dollar qb for not scoring on the 2. You guys are hilarious

Why the hell is he even calling a play to the short right side of the field when your right tackle is compromised. You have better numbers on the left, more room to operate, and a stronger line. This was just a boneheaded play call from the start.

Always an excuse for Dak

You gotta give Pickens a chance on that back shoulder throw its a very common play

The Cowboys out played the Ravens everywhere except the scoreboard & critical coaching calls. Special Teams coach has to go & Schotty might need to hire a play caller so he can concentrate more on the critical moments in the game.

You casually skip over the fact that Pickens was open…on the quick out…which was the called route. Dak never made any reads; all he did was panic. Not pressure from the right, not a route adjustment, not a planned throwaway (ffs). Panic.

I Have to disagree bc there was a good pocket there

Nah.. 77 did not lose ground fast enough for Dak to panic. Pickens is engaged, and that's why there is a play called a back shoulder throw. If the corner goes thru the WR, it will possibly another DPI.

Yep, good analysis!

Schotty is getting plenty of well-deserved blame.

This is a cop out for Dak…he’s the highest paid person in the organization he can put his foot down and override any of this. Mainly the play call

@jtuck151 @TheStarGaz3rr @Cowboys_FanTalk additional insight as well. My husband wanted me to tag yall when I showed him the video.

B/c Dak has been everything that’s wrong with the Cowboys for the last 3 decades, remember? Dak should’ve called a run play, Dak shouldn’t have allowed that false start, Dak should’ve sacked Lamar & not given up that 30 yard bomb for the winning FG w/ 7 secs left in regulation 💀

He panicked and threw it away when he had at least 2 more seconds he could have used before throwing the ball. Typical Dak play in the clutch. A Mahomes or Stafford moves a step or two while waiting to buy those extra 2 seconds

Dak cant throw with anticipation.

Analyze the play before. THAT’S when Dak should have thrown it away. Instead he ran it up the middle and burned their last timeout.

Maaaaan, the play was there 🤦🏾♂️

Thank you finally someone with a Brain terrible play call from the start of this and the false start fucked it all up

Yeah play sucked but imo Dak had mind made up throw it away no matter what Ya gotta have optionality. A QB who can move, improvise, extend the play a few seconds Instead Schotty "overcoaches," plays "not to lose" & Dak chokes

Did he get pushed into Dak’s lap, or did he jump there? 🤔

Fluornoy was the correct decision not Pickens. That’s offensive PI on Pickens or a pick 6 if he doesn’t push off.

Bro if he throws at the exact same time and puts it on the corner ball game. Point blank. keep coping for Dak 🙄 yall are pathetic.

@Twatch_Me_Workk

What? Throw it to gp in the front pylon and win the game, 1on 1 with your stud reliever is what you hope for

Pickens is open ( he did push off). Deliver ball.

QBs are leaders, tacticians, and decision makers of their own. They are not pre programmed robots that have to do everything their coach says even if they see an open game winning TD... Dak screwed up, he missed a read and you sound like an absolute, in denial, glazing fan boy

Yep
